Heater anyone?

Ok, Going to work this morning, a 25 mile drive, I could not get the heater to blow warm or hot air. it was blowing the already cold air from outside. I made sure the AC button was in the off positon, it was not on MAX AC, the dial was in the red area, and the fan was on high speed..Why no warm air? on the way home I tried it agian , this time after about 25 seconds, (the truck is already warmed up) i got some warm air to come out, then after a few more minutes it turned to the normal hot air that I expected, Only with a warm engine I expect it to heat immediately... I only have 400 miles on the truck, the dealer is booked for service until an incovenient time for me. But is this normal.. or do I have a problem here?? it seems that the system is taking too long to close and open the proper doors for heating and or cooling..

sometimes i can;t get mines to turn off. i have to turn the ignition off to get it out off the aircondition cycle. go figure.

Did you atleast make sure the vent was in the recirc mode, so as to not bring in outside air? I used my heater day before yesterday, and within 2-3 minutes it was pretty warm, enough for me to feel comfy anyway. Have no qualms about my A/C-Heather

Yes I did, and even though the owners manual says to make sure the recirc. is turn off, it was the only way I got the heater to come on, on the way home trip. I hear the system and maybe the whole truck operates off sensors, and I wondering if this is a good idea.
