You might as well just cut a triangle out of your hood with a cut off wheel and put rubber pinch-weld strips around the cut edge. That would provide better ventilation with having a RAISED scoop with 1/8" thick servo tape around the base.

The funny thing is people are buying those things and some of them are probably PAYING someone to put them on.
