VIN for canopy color match?

I stopped by Canopy World to price there Z series A.R.E canopies. They told me when I go to order the canopy, it is best to have the VIN in order to get an exact color match. I told them it was a 05 Radiant Silver Nissan Titan, thinking that should be enough. They said a VIN number will get a better color match...any truth to this?

Yes, they match the paint batch that was used for your build date...Or so I was told by LEER

You don't need the VIN, but there is a paint code on the drivers door frame.
