Planned projects coming up for the Titan (Read!)

This might spark some interest in a few of you.

1) Installing the Tailgate Assist parts on a 04. I ordered all the stuff today, waiting for it to come in once the dealer receives it. Give me time to do the install however. I have limited time due to work and a busy schedule. But I will get it done as soon as possible. I will take lots of pictures, and make a detail write up. I am very good at stuff like this! :P

2) Installing a factory switch to turn off the power seat controls to the driver seat. To prevent it from moving the back part of the seat when you get in and out of the truck! This is really getting on my nerves. I ordered a switch as well, 9 bucks. Its a factory switch that I will mount next to the pedal switch. Again, I will have pics and a write up on how to install this.

Please be patient everyone! I like to see how many would be interested in doing this themselves too?

Very interested in the tailgate assist. Are the parts available yet? Seems like I remember reading that the parts were not released to the dealerships yet. Knowing the way Nissan manages their parts, it would not surprise me if they only have enough for the start of production with none to spare.

I have a connection with a dealer. So I get 25% discounts as well. He has been a parts manager for over 15 years. He said they are available since he ordered them, but he might get a letter tomorrow stating that it won't ship till a certain date. So we will find out tomorrow I assume.

Update

Well got some bad news. The parts have been ordered. But! They are on backorder with no ETA at this moment.

So we will have to wait. He told me some Titan parts are taking 5 weeks to come in. So that might be how long we will have to wait. He went ahead and sent me the seat switch however so I can at least work on that! :P

Seat

I am really looking forward to the seat switch. I am short and hitting that all the time is irritating. Thanks

Titan TX- do you have the part numbers you ordered for the tailgate assist? Might as well get a head start on the wait time. Thanks

Some guy posted them here recently. I do not have them in my hands so I can't give you the part # or prices. I just know its under $20 for all of the stuff.

This will great, I am like Smoketitan and that was one of the features I liked about the 05. Now if you type up some really (and I mean really) good instructions I might even be able to do this myself. Reckon it will be harder than changing a tire? That pretty much taxes my mechanic abilities

Tailgate mod is going to be very interesting to see. I was just thinking of this last night on the ride home. The parts may be on back-order for a little while. This usually happens with such a new vehicle. The parts are avail. they are just commited to the assembly line at this time.
