First day on the board, names Todd and as you can see I be wantin a Titan, done a fair amount of research and believe this is the truck I want,King cab not sure on the color(they all look good)but had a quick question I am sure someone can answer.I was reading about Improvements on the 05 models and the article said that a limited slip was now available for 05,my question is this are all 04's produced with out limited slip? Were some of the models equipped w/limited slip?If anyone can enlighten me it would be appreciated, the article was kind of confusing. Thanks in advance for the help.T

The limited slip was tied into the Off-Road pkg on the '04 we just traded in.

Our new '05 Has the Traction package ($300) which is ABLS. We lost the VDC from the O-R pkg.

VDC is vehicle dynamic control....its a computer that detects wheel spin etc and changes the throttle etc to help get the vehicle back under control.

Yes, you can get limited slip - Active Brake Limited Slip (ABLS) two wheel on the new '05s under the 'traction package'. They removed it from the Big Tow Pkg.

IF your looking '04 VDC and ABLS are in the Big Tow Pkg. But I believe this may have changed to an e-locker back in April '04 that substituted for the VDC.

VDC vehicle dynamic control. in 04 it was packaged w/ big tow. 05 packaged w/ side airbags.

it's a stability safety feature when the rear end or front end loses grip. It controls it by braking or accelerating each wheel depending on which is losing grip.

Not at all.It stands for Active Brake Limited SlipAnd it brakes the wheel that is slipping.Do a search for ABLS and there is a great explanation of Abls Vs traction control Vs VDC.

No Titan has an actual LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL. They have the available Active Brake Limited Slip which is an open diff. controlled by the ABS system. Even the 4X2 models can be had with ABLS but it's optional. 4X4 models have it front and rear.

You know, if you do get a Titan you'll have to change your screen name
