canadian titan owners?

just joined titan talk. i've ordered an LE CC, and this forum really helped me choose between the dodge and the titan. thanks to all. are there any other Canadian Titan owners on this forum?

i also have an observation to make - i think the Titans you guys are getting down here in the US are coming with different options/packages than the Canadian versions, but there seems to be a big difference in price. up here i don't find any competition for my business, and no incentives.

however, Canada is an after thought for the car makers , so maybe i shouldn't be too surprised.

I think most of the packages are the same, or pretty similar. I mean the trucks are still made in the same place, the border shouldnt make a difference. Where are you from in Canada? Im from ottawa myself, but living in halifax.

yeah, near Ottawa. i think the Canadian trucks are different in a few ways, though i agree they should be the same. for example, on the LE, i don't believe i can also get the off-road package, which i've seen on some trucks in this forum. could be wrong.

have you got an 05?

I currently live in Winnipeg, MB but soon will be relocating to Dauphin, MB and I've had my Titan for a little over two months (a 2004). By checking the website www.nissanusa.com you'll definitely see that the packages offered to US customers allow them to build their trucks differently than what is offered in Canada. I have an SE King Cab 2WD. What I found when checking out this type of Titan before I bought it was that this truck came basically fully loaded as standard - The only additional option was the Versatility Package for $2,700. The price difference that you're referring to comes as a result of the Canadian Titans are fully loaded (standard) than the stripped down versions (standard) offered in the US.
Before I bought the Titan, I was looking at purchasing a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Ext Cab 2WD with 6.0L engine. The retail price of the Chevy was $3,000 MORE than the Titan that I bought. This with the fact that the Titan's 5.6L engine has more horsepower and torque than the 6.0L Chevy.
I'm almost 54 but I love the Titan for the power it has and the way it sounds - AWESOME

Hey all, I am from Halifax and as someone else pointed out the Canadian trucks are offered for sale loaded up with few choices. Crew cab is only available in 4wd but I think in the US it is available as 2wd also. These trucks are awesome. I just traded in an 03 Frontier and am now getting better fuel mileage then the old truck, and the fun factor for the drive just won't go away.

hunter, i think you've got it right - in fact that's one of the reasons i chose the titan over the dodge ram 1500 - it seemed to come fully loaded, so i didn't have to make a lot of decisions. chryslers reputation also influenced my decision.

i have a question - has anyone tried to order an 05 LE? i ordered one, but the dealer told me they really have no idea when i'm going to get it. can't seem to get any answers, and one guy at Nissan Canada didn't even know that they weren't being made.

the problem, apparently, is with side airbags. but if they're making them almost everywhere in the US, why not in Canada?

I sure would be interested in knowing what types of excuses that Nissan has been giving you - How many kms do you have on your Titan to warrant new brakes and rotors ??? My Titan so far so good

Am I the only one from the WEsT coast? I'm in Vancouver. I've seen three other Titans in the lower mainland. Just last month I did a little hunting up north and this truck was made for these conditions. I must say that the looks I was getting from other drivers around me was odd at first but then one guy in a brand new Ram talked to me in a gas station in Williams Lake, and he absolutely loved my truck. So I guess those odd looks were looks of JEALOUSY. I plan to do some ice fishing past 100 mile house in late January, and I'll let you know how it goes in Rocky Mountain snow.

welcome, west coast. i lived in Vancouver when i was a kid. love to visit every couple of years. i don't see many titans here in Ottawa (i've only ever seen two), so i imagine i'll be getting some looks when i finally get mine.

i've got a question for all the Canadians: is the Titan a better made truck than the Dodge Ram 1500? more reliable? better service?

just curious what each of you thinks.

I'm From Prince George B.C.
and I would guess the Titan is made better than a Ram,The two Rams I have been in were nice though. On average I would bet that it is more reliable(although mine wasn't),I couldn't tell you about Dodge service but Nissan customer care is terrible.

Guiseppe,
You didn't happen to be hunting in Prince George did you? I recently saw a Maroon Kc at an intersection (only the second or third one I've seen in town). The driver was a friendly fellow and we gave each a sort of Titan nod/wave.

I've never owned nor do I know anyone who has a Dodge RAM 1500. The only truck I've ever owned besides the Titan has been a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS Ext Cab 2WD. It was a great truck but it didn't come close to the Titan for power and sound.

No I haven't been up there YET! I have a smoke KC with a tonneau cover. If I do come up I'll ask around... It shouldn't be very difficult to find you considering how many other Titans are out there. I hope you're enjoying your truck... I'm loving mine.
