If I run prerunner Gregs kit w/ 18"s, which tire will work best for "mostly" around town driving? What size??

Probably the BFG simply because of available sizes. See http://www.nittotire.com/popup_terra_sizes.asp

The 33" Nitto (LT325/60R18) lists minimum of 9.5" "approved" wheel. That's pretty big.

The 33" BFG A/T in LT286/65R18 (http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/asset...rain_ta_kd.pdf) lists an 8" wide approved wheel width.

But I do love my Nittos.

I agree with you about the size for the BFG's but the only problem is that you can't find them anywere. They have been back ordered for months and seem to still be months out. I wish Nitto made the 285/65/18 also, or anybody else for that fact.

I would also like to keep the stock metal wheel 17x7.5's. does anyone know what the tallest widest tire for this wheel would be. help in solving this problem

Sounds like what you are looking for you already have, the OEM offroad package. But seriously, I don't think you would want to put anything much bigger than what you have on a 7.5" wide wheel. It all really boils down to how much $$$$ you want to spend I guess.

I know I'm comparing apples to oranges here, but I used to have 45 series Nittos on my Honda Accord. After a couple of years the sidewalls started to crack along the areas where there's lettering. A couple of tire dealers told me that this is common for Nitto tires.

Just my 2 pennies.

Nitto low profile tires suck a$$. I'll be the first to admit that. But, I've heard from many mudd heads that the terragrapplers and mudgrapplers are great tires on and off road. I had a set of 215/40/18 on my civic and wore them out in a matter of 1 year. Then I got new wheels and tires and went to a 215/35/19 pirelli and saw how truly bad the nittos really were. But I'll go with what these guys say. They cant all be in on it. Truck guys like'em. maybe different design makes them superior. Who knows.
