just tinted windows today...

Windows look great. I have tinted the windows on all of my cars, got a great guy in Pleasanton, CA that does an awesome job and is very reasonably priced. You can PM me if you're interested.

Went with Llumar 20% smoke tint on the driver's and passenger's side windows. Match in terms of color and darkness is very close to the stock privacy glass on my CC.

I had been debating between 20% and 35% translucense and am glad I went with the 20%!!!

I'm considering getting the Llumar clear bra done in a couple of weeks. Anyone have any experience with that?

Wanted to show a couple of pics of the beast!!! But files too big.

I don't know about Llumar clear bra....I used 3M on the front of my truck....Did all the door jams, headlights, fogs, plastic bumper, chrome, and some of the hood. I ordered it bulk on ebay and went to town (Very easy to apply yourself).....looks great and you would not notice it unless I pointed it out to you..

Hey Taibo- Why don't you compress a few of those pictures. I am getting my windows done next week and would love to see yours.

I tinted my KC up here in Concord, I went pretty dark to match the window on the KC and the smoke color of the truck. Keep your eye out for very fine scratches that will appear on the tint over time. I've had mine for about 2 mos. and already the fine hairline scratches have appeared. There must be something inside the door that rides on the window and scratches the tint.
I probably wouldn't have noticed so soon, but I read about it on this forum that somebody else had the same problem, and sure enough I saw it on mine too.

Doesn't seem to be getting any worse, so I figure I have to live with it. :-(

Jayjoans,
Buy a product called Plexus to use on your tint. Search the web for suppliers. I have used it for many years on my tints and on the rear plastic convertible windows in my Porsches. It was developed for the plastic and lexan windshield for aircraft and I swear by it for tint and plastic windows. It really "lubricates" and "seals" the tint so it will scratch much less.

I had mine tinted a few weeks ago. I went with 35% high performance so it is a little lighter. Have to watch for the black and whites.
My problem is that they used a wedge piece of plastic to shove down the inner weather stripping and I can't get it back up.
I tried with a pen while the window was down and not it is stretched out in those places. It wont reform to the window. So I have just left the rest of it the way he put it.
Anyone have the same problem or a way to fix it?

Edit pictures

Taibo- If using Microsoft Office Windows Manager or a similar software look for an "edit picture" tab. Hit that tab and it should drop down a menu that will allow you to resize or compress picture. Give that a whirl.
