No illumination on A/C knobs?

I have my Titan scheduled for service tommorow, just a few minor things. But one is that about 30% of time when driving at night, my A/C knobs aren't illuminated (as well as the diff lock and tow mode switch underneath knobs) and then sooner or later they will light up. Not a huge deal but still a little annoying. Reason I am mentioning is I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen and if so what did dealer find? I am trying to get an idea so I can "help" my local service department find the problem. It seems it takes a few trips everytime there is a problem to finally get a fix.

Thanks for any help

Mike

Mine did the same thing until I raised and lowered the dash light dimmer switch. No
problems since I did that.

Thanks a bunch. Just so I am clear, even though my dash dimmer switch is on brightest setting, adjusting this switch will make the lights to A/C knobs come back on?

Yes, That is correct. Mine does it also. Sometimes even just touching the dimmer switch makes them come on. I foresee a TSB for a new switch in the future.

Yep the dimmer switch is a real cheap rheostat (variable resistor) so just roll it up and down a few times and you should clean it up internally allowing more juice to flow.A lot of times these dimmers aren't sealed so humidity and dust will cause a little electrical flow problems.
