Question Checking the past on a truck

Is there a way to check the past service, problems, history of a used vehicle?
The dealer is trying to sell a Titan with about 1000 miles on it. It was born in March and the dealer is selling it in October. There is a gap. It seems like a nice truck and they give the standard answer when asked why the gap in time and the 1000 miles. "We're getting it from another dealer for you. We don't know but it has been checked out completly".

Black Crew SE w/ big tow, spray-in liner and tie downs, bench, 6 disk. $28K

sounds like it might be a demo...have the service department run a history report or have the sales guy run a carfax to see if it was owned by someone else already...more than likely it's a demo

I don't know the history, but I do know the price is about $2k too high. Honestly, you can get a brand new SE King for about $26k...easy.

Check out www.fightingchance.com and follow their instructions to the letter. It works...it saved me $4500 back when no one was dealing on Titans. These days you should do WAY better.

HTH,

Seriously, get the truck NEW. Don't go for a "used" Titan paying 28k new retail price. That's a shame if they can actually get someone to purchase that.

For 04's you can get a heck of a deal for an SE.

Sounds like a demo unit, that should never even been considered for a dealer swap. I wouldn't even consider a BRAND new truck that has 1000 miles on it. My truck had 225 miles on it when I got it (the other smoke SE had 350) so I am pretty certain that the salesmen used it as a go home vehicle overnight or errands for themselves, in addition to customers driving. Then again it had been on the lot since March (born on 3/19 and state inspection done in March) and I bought in late-June. Anyway, I would move on to the next one and leave this one for someone else to get, if you want a brand NEW truck. Good luck.
