Just got back from the dealer, been there 5 hours. '04 Black Crew Cab LE with big tow and a radio that doesn't pick up $HIT!!!!!!!
Sticker was $36,400. I put $4000 down and took the 1% APR. Used my V.P.P. plan (2.87% below invoice). Monthly payments are $465 for 60 months....not too bad, I thought anyway. They started at $510 a month with the same money down. I laughed, got up and started to walk out.......4 hours later we were at $465, go figure. They are going to scotch guard the carpet, treat the leather, AND teflon coat the paint next Wednesday for no charge.
Besides the super$hitty radio reception, the truck is AWESOME........HUGE!! Didn't realize how bad the radio reception was until the ride home. Too busy listening to the exhaust during the test drive (love the rumble).
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET A NEW RADIO??????????????

To me it sounds like you got a hell of a deal. VPP is nice, I have it to. I hope to use it maybe by the end of the week on a 4x4 SE or maybe LE KC. You really saved money on the scotch guarding and paint treatment at no charge. I know the paint treatment cost me $500 at the Nissan dealer on my 04 Maxima I had. Notice I said "had", long story, too many problems w/that car. Sweet deal, hope you love your new Titan.
Sticker was $36,400.....ended up paying $31,200. Which is over $5,000 off the sticker and about $1,000 under invoice. Then, I put $4,000 down and used the 1% APR which made my payments $464.11 for 60 mo. I thought that was acceptable.

When people say "clean as a whistle", they forget that a whistle is full of spit.
When I bought my truck and they brought the paper to the table that had the "final" figures on it, it was broken down this way: $795 discount for my VPP, but they charged me $650 for destination charges and $675 for delivery/setup fees. So those totally wiped out anything I'd gain my using my VPP. I asked about the two +$600 charges, what they were for, I thought they were for the same thing. They said one was but they didn't know what the other one was for, had NO CLUE!. They gave me a 1-800 number to call. After talking to 5 different people at 5 different numbers, still got no answer. The best I could come up with is what Nissan North American told me...the $675 is charged for delivery/setup ONLY to VPP customers. So the normal consumer would not have to pay this charge. They said I got my truck at 2.75% below dealer invoice, that's bullsh*t. I paid $27,891 for my truck, that's before anything was added such as TT&L or my $1,500 for my extended platinum warranty. If I don't use the warranty between 36k - 100k, I get the entire $1,500 back. If I do, they prorate the plan. But still, VPP did NOT seem to help me. They give you a discount, but take it right back with the BS charges of delivery/setup? Was I scammed?

Yeah, I was really upset when I saw the two "mystery charges" too. One was $767 and the other was $650. Add them up and they nulified my VPP savings ($940). One fee was a "dealer delivery fee" and the other was a "destination handling fee".....they both sound the same if you ask me. They said that everybody has to pay the $650 one.
HOWEVER....they said without my VPP I would NOT have gotten under the invoice price. So after I calmed down and thought about it, I think that the VPP did help a good bit, just not as much as I thought it would.
Anyway...went back to the dealer today and they scotchguarded the carpet, put some kind of treatment on the leather, and teflon-coated the paint at no charge (probably a $700-$800 freebie). The paint looks awesome, very shiney and slick looking, and feels like a sheet of glass. It was raining on the way home and everytime I came to a stop the water just rolled right off the truck.
ALSO....I complained about the radio. They had a new one ordered within 5 minutes. It will be in on Tuesday.
Not satisfied? Be the dealers good friend and stick the warranty to them. lol
They should be scarred when they see you each time. I get everything out of them with rentals, free oil changes, free gas, etc. just be nice and know the right people and it'll save plenty of time.

hey penrose, what is the teflon paint protection? is that just some type of sealer that i can do at home? can anyone enlighten me on this. i ordered aan 05 LE CC 4x4 with all the extras. haven't received it yet but maybe i would like to get this treatment done to the paint. thanks, and congrats on the new titan. titanrookie
They said first they apply an acetone to make sure the paint is totally clean. Then they apply the teflon and work it into the "pours" of the paint with an orbital buffer. It's like a shiney wax coat that wont wear off.

It'll wear off, just like any wax or sealant. Dont get suckered in by dealership BS. I personally wouldnt let those monkeys touch the paint even if it was free. I am positive they will put scratches in the paint.

Not to be an *** or anything, but I got almost the exact same price for the same truck with OR package.
Also, there is a lot that could go wrong with that process with that acetone. If it is done incorrectly the acetone will eat off parts of the clearcoat and paint. Remember, acetone is nail polish remover i.e. paint remover. I wouldn't let them do that if I were you. Just my two cents.
