GMC Owned by Titan

I have to share this story with you guys:

This weekend I went with my brother -in - law and father - in - law to a Harley rally in Dothan, Alabama. We took my brother-in-law's GMC Sierra pickup instead of riding our bikes due to heavy rain. On the way he kept saying that he liked my Titan but it just didn't have the power of a GMC. I basically ignored him the whole way as he kept saying that GMC was the greatest truck ever. He said that his truck had more 'low end" power than the Titan. I refused to argue with him because I know he can be an idiot and apparantly doesn't know the specs on the Titan. Anyway after a long weekend of hearing his B.S. on that GMC, we get back home to Mississippi and I get in my truck to go to my in - laws for lunch. He pulls behind me in his truck and I see him grinning from ear to ear. I knew what he was about to do, so I waived him to come around me. When he began to pass, I floored it and just walked off and left him. I was really surprised at how bad I smoked him, I mean it took off and left that truck by 10 car lengths before I finally let off of the gas. We finally got to my in-laws and he got out and said he could not believe how that truck took off like that. He said he was blown away by the Titan and didn't believe all of the hype about the Titan until just then. I told him to bow to his master. ha ha ha. He was really impressed by the power and went on and on about it for the rest of the day.
His truck is a 2002 GMC Sierra King Cab with the 5300 Vortec motor.

Needless to say, I had an awesome weekend.

THe really sad thing is that I drove a 2005 Sierra HD with the 6.0 litre V8 but it still can't giddyup out of the hole and maintain constant acceleration like the naughty Titan. I suppose that has to with its gross weight, but even still you ought to expect a little more from an HD. Congrats on smokin' the competition...

My dad has an 04 Silverado Crew, and I got my Titan about a month ago. I've been a long time GM truck guy till I drove the Titan. I get to drive both on a regular basis, and the Titan out performs the Chevy hands down!!

I may be in the minority here, but I have a large GM SUV and now a Titan. My SUV has the 6L motor in it with 3.73 gears. The 6L motor makes more HP and similar tq to the 5.6L in the Titan, but because of the weight differences, the Titan would be the winner if they lined up for a drag race.

I do agree that the 5.3L motor in the 1500 pickups is weak compared to the Titan. I'd rather hook a trailer behind my Titan than a 1500 GM 5.3L pickup

And to keep up with the GM bashing, I think I read somewhere that the Titan accelerates within a .10 in the 1/4 to Silverado SS, which has fulltime AWD and the 345hp version of GMs 6L V8.

Hey! Not true!
We discuss the technical nuances between the different full size trucks on the market.
But we never ever ever bash those piece of crap trucks!
