Be sure and let us know how it did. I bought my truck in Feb. and we didn't get any snow after that so I am curious how it will do. I have had it in some mud and it did really well.

well, sorry to report that the snow, while sticking really well to the grass and trees, did not stay on the pavement. i guess its still too warm. although, i did notice that my in-mirror temp guage said ICE alternating w/ the temp of 32 degrees F. guess ill have to wait to give a good snow report. sorry.

I can attest to how the Titans do in the snow. My first one, an SE CC 4x4 w/offroad & VDC did great with Bridgestone Winter Duelers on it, was a tank. My second one, an LE CC 4x4 w/o offroad does even better with the Winter Duelers.

One thing I noticed about the first one was it was hypersensitive to slipping, it would be very abrupt at corrections. The new Titan has VCD and is a little more subtle, however, it won't let the truck get sideways, but it doesn't JERK it back into a straight path like the other one did. I'd have to say the new one does better and is more fun to drive, not to mention the ride is TONS better without the offroad pkg.

I've been driving here in Alaska for nearly 12 years and the Titan is one of the best I've ever driven on bad roads.......that includes 2 Jeep Grand Cherokees. Course my little Focus ranks a close second.

Steve, Thanks to a rather large photo of our house out in Lakewood Subdivision, I'm reminded most every day of what a 7" - 8" snowfall did to road travel in mid-Mo back in '83. Took me about seven hours to get home from Callaway that night. The ride down Steadman hill was breathtaking. My '78 Volvo 240 got me (and it) home in one piece, though.
After waiting 70 days for my Titan, I took delivery last March in the first few hours of the winter's last snowfall. The dealer is about 13 miles from here. It was the first time I ever drove any full-size pickup that far. The 6ish inches of unplowed wet snow was more of an emotional challenge for me than it was for my extraordinary truck. It did just fine. I had a grand opportunity to do something really stupid with it that night, but it just wouldn't let me.
I think you'll find your Titan's a very capable, secure ride in snow.
So when (if) you get something more than flurries, take a spin (sorry) out to Callaway and back. Then you'll know. Good luck!

I don't want to high jack this thread but, I sure would like to see a picture of those PIAA 1500 Backup lights. Was thinking of installing a pair but not sure where to mount. Do you like them?

Boone Titan - I just added a post to my original "PIAA 1500 Backup Lights" thread in "Parts & Accessories". That way we won't kidnap Steve's snow thread. The lights are a super improvement. Click over to the parts forum. My thread should be somewhere close to the top.

You're right doesn't have anything internal to do with the diff. So has anyone had any type experience with the Active Brake Limited Slip yet, how it works in real 4 x4 situations such as mud and snow? And does it even come close to a locking diff? And Tom a diff is a differential.
