04 Tailgate Assist Retrofit Solved

My driveway is quite steep with a flat area at top for parking. When I walk behind my Titan the driveway drops off so the top of the bed is at chin height. The tailgate is pretty big from that view. So, by doing some basic engineering and following previous posts on this subject I have figured the problem out.

Securely fasten two lengths of rope to the tailgate using duct tape. Run the rope to the front of the bed and through two tie downs secured in the utili-track at the front. Tie loops in the end of the rope. Standing in the truck bed, grasp the loops and VIOLA… you have your own alternative to a Bowflex. By adjusting your position you can design unlimited routines to improve upper body strength. Sitting in a chair and inserting your feet through the loops allows you to strengthen and tone leg muscles. To do a power workout you need increased resistance. Fasten two eyebolts to the tailgate for the rope instead of the duct tape. Park on a hill. The steeper the hill, the more resistance, the greater the workout.

My infomercial will be out for the holidays so you may purchase your own basic kit (roll of duct tape and pre-cut rope) for $19.95, Power kit (two eyebolts, drill bit and rope) for $39.95, or Deluxe kit (all the above plus folding lawn chair) for $59.95. But wait, there’s more. Buy 2 deluxe kits for the unbelievably low price of $99.95. The motto of the infomercial is, “Titan, the ultimate multi-tasking machine.” NOTICE TO ALL FEMALE MEMBERS OF FORUM. I want you to be in our infomercial to do demonstrations and give bubbly testimonials. Please submit pictures of yourself in exercise poses. Pictures in the back of your truck wearing tight spandex or a short, cropped T-shirts preferred!
