Have you seen the '05 aluminum interior trim?

I got my first look at the new aluminum-look interior trim for '05 at my local dealer. When I heard Nissan was doing this I was planning on buying the trim pieces to replace that on my '04 SE. But, when I saw it in person - NO WAY.

It's got to be the worst plastic-coated-with-weird-paint-stuff imitation aluminum ever. It doesn't even look close to being real metal! The only used it on the piece around the radio/HVAC controls and around the shifter - the rest of the pieces are the dark grey. I'll leave mine the way it is.

The trim on a QX 56 looks much, much better.

Does anyone know of a good-quality dash kit that uses real aluminum?

Thanks!

I am glad you said that, cuz I was looking for the same thing. It would seem that NYC Dash company that sponsors this site would be your best bet. They have everything under the sun, including real aluminum. Check em out in the sponsor section, thanks for posting that info.

Cool

What is it with Nissan and that cheap aluminum imitation crap?
My wife had a 2002 Niss maxima that we traded in for an 04 Toy Sienna xle. The maxima had very cheap "aluminum colored" plastic on the base of the shifter. It had all kinds of scuffs and scratches and looked very cheap. It was my only complaint with that car. It was a sweat ride, smooth, powerfull and crazy FAST. We loved that car but the family grows and need to move to bigger things. No complaints with the van though. I believe toyota OWNS the van market with that Sienna.

Nissan interior has never been anything to brag about! I wish they would take some interest in this.

Maybe they don't want to cannibalize the Infiniti product?? Either way, I wouldn't mind seeing an example of the brushed Aluminum on a Titan from the NYC Dash Co. Anyone done this yet? Or, if you have used there product in anything I wouldn't mind seeing how it looks. I want to see how after-markety it looks...
