While I know I have to make the ultimate decision based on Inventory and risk of not getting what I want, I'm curious as to what everyone else would do in here.
Would you go ahead and buy an 04 Titan today and try to get an end of month deal? Or would you hold out until around Dec 30th, 31st and hope for a better rebate and deal for end of year deal?

Thanks again for all your input!
get a 2004 today, i doubt there'll be any more discounts as i hear that Titan sales per month is rising -or- just get a 2005 when ever you can. 2005s may offer leather seat option and automatic rear window optiosn, if that's important enough.
i like my Titan: one month is a lot of fun time to be had in a darn good truck. my 1st month we were out off-roading everyweekend, what a blast: dodging trees over bumpy muddy (snow and mud) twisty mountain jeep trails. i had big splashes of mud water covering the entire windsheld (the engine bay under the hood was caked with mud), blinding us for seconds while the wiper did their work... was really stupid (and lucky) 'cause i could have rammed a tree, a dirt mound or another vehicle in that wilderness

I purchased my 04 two weeks ago. The dealer had to find my vehicle which was 200 miles away. I started the process about three days prior to finally purchasing. Every time they found me a vehicle in the region, it was gone within hours. My purpose was to get the end of the year rebate and discounts on the 04. I saved about 5k off of sticker when it was all said and done.
If you know what you want, and want an 04, don't hesitate. Go to your dealer and put it on the table. They want to sell a truck, even if they have to go get it, as in my case. If they don't want to look around, do some research and go to a dealer that will. The 04's are going fast! I had to settle for my third choice in colors, but am happy with my truck and the service I received from the dealer.
I bought my LE 3 weeks ago. it's your call but my advice is don't settle. if you doubt you like the options and color, then don't buy it. they'll be plenty of 05 then. just please don't pay sticker. try a few hundred above invoice (05) and hold your ground.

I recommend that you go to edmunds dot com and readup on dealer tactics.
There are two core issues for most folks. What the sale price is and the finance rate is APR. Everything else takes a back seat.
Most people don't want an XE and dealers know this. So dealers often advertise them at a price very close to their cost as a LOSS LEADER. This gets people in the door. The print will usually quote a specific dealer stock number for this low price. When you get to the lot, they often try everything to keep you from purchasing the sale item and move you to higher priced vehicle. This is known as BAIT AND SWITCH. If you stick by your guns and insist on the loss leader, they often try to add the cost of a bunch of other stuff like window tint and etching. Most state laws prohibit this, and mentioning this to the salesperson will demonstrate that you know this. Now, is a good time to ask for the dealers business card and walk toward the car you drove in on. (* percent of the time the dealer will be right behind you trying to get you back in the dealership.
A good time to go to a dealership is near the end of the month. Most salespeople have a quota to meet and they be more willing to take a low price.
Go ahead and pick out an '04 and get a good deal. If you really want the new tailgate, power window, diff. cover, and the lovely "V8 TITAN" plastered on the door, then wait for an '05. I don't think that there are enough '05s out there yet to prove the small problems are solved from the '04s.
Listen,
find the truck you want, price it on kbb.com or edmunds.com, get invoice price, then offer the dealer invoice MINUS the current rebate ($2000). That should put you at roughly $5000 off the Titan you want.

I have a LE CC 4x4 loaded w/out nav bought for 33,500. MSRP is 39,660. This price is with it being delivered 5 1/2 hours. Go get an 04. Plus this truck is one of the latest builds 92,658.
My dealer said the incentives and finance rates are the same for the 05 as the 04. If you can swing it, buy the 2005. There are a few improvements and extras that come with it.

Not so, '05s have no 1% financing and no rebates. Plus the '05s went up in price ~$500 invoice. Don't think a dealer is going to let a '05 go for 1.5% under invoice either. On new models, you're doing good ~3% over invoice.
All considered, the same truck I have but an '05, would had cost ~$3600 more than what I paid for my '04. The bad thing is that not many '04s are left. Mine was the last in my area that had the options I wanted. I was lucky enough to have it at the dealership I've been dealing with for years.
nissan's site is up to date. same incentives for 04 till jan 3. none for 05.
Where are you guys finding any rebate information on Nissan's site? I've thoroughly looked and found absolutely no rebate information. Could you point to a link?
I stand corrected. I went to the dealer today and spoke to the sales manager and was told 4.9% and no rebate. My guess is by Jan.4 most if not all the 04's will be gone and the rate will come down.
They are offering 0%-1.9% on everything for 05 except the Altima and Titan(depending on model).
