Seat belt recall work. Why they have to remove the front seats?

I am just currious. The reason I know because I added some washers between the seat bottom and its holding plates (with bolts) to lift the front of the seats. When I took the car back, the seat didn't feel right (bench). Took me a week to find out they put the washers under the plates so the seat was back to the original angle.

I also found rust on both of the under side of both front seats. Don't they suppose to have some protective coatings on these metal parts?

So some fat a** can fit in between.

No, there's no need to remove front seat for the recall job. There are plenty of room to work with.

we'll I found out that service advisors get commission (at least in Irvine, CA) even for warranty work since they charge the factory for the problems. Who knows if the mechanics get some $ too.

Get some what?. The Nissan Warranty pays 1.0hr for the job, you get it done in 1/2, you get pay 1.0 and if you get it done in 2.0hrs, you still get pay 1.0 plus some sh*t look from your team mate or co-worker, if it's take twice as long to finish the recall job, you need some trainning. .

It's no big secret, dealership warranty work is paid for on a flat rate basis by the manufacturer, in an effort to reduce warranty costs. They have an hourly amount they pay for every job and that's it. At some shops this is causing a lot of resentment amung the techs. http://www.flatratetech.com details this phenominon at Ford.
