Radio, Rear Seat Belt and Bed!

I talked to a dealer about bringing my truck in and adressing the issues mentioned and was just wanting some back-up from some of you guys as to "If and how your "problem' with one or several of these issues were fixed by your dealer. Seems every time I talk to a service department they act like they haven't received anything from Nissan on the radio problem and that the rear seat belt has not been fixed yet?(Yes, I have had it replaced once already). Some of you guys and gals have had the radios replaced and if so did it solve the problem?

Some of you had bedliner re-done, replaced? I would apreciate if you could possibly give me some dealer names that I could get my dealer to call etc.

I've been away for a while and know I should have kept more up to date on these issues but my truck will be a year old December 30th and I have dreaded leaving it with a dealer especially during deer season and since I haul my hunting product behind my Titan I'm not to happy with that fact also.

I would appreciate any help you could give me and maybe several people having similiar problems can print out what other dealers have done to fix these and other problems.

Thanks, Marty

Well you can get the TSB somewhere on the site for the radio and show it to the dealership. The new radio helps alot with teh FM reception and it doesnt fade anymore. Theres also a TSB for the rear seat belts I believe if you use the search option and look it up. Im not sure if theres a TSB out for the bed but I'm not having problems with it. Sorry if I didnt help but I tried

There are TSB's on the Radio and a Recall on the D Rings for the back seatbelts. As far as the bed, some have had thiers replaced due to 'bubbling' in which they replaced the whole bed. But, I believe this was after they had a Nissan Rep come and look at it.

My dealership ordered the new radio for me right after my 3750 mile service. They called about a month or so later saying that it was finally in. I didn't have time to take the truck in so I told them I'd be in touch as soon as I could.....no real rush on the radio.

Well, took the truck back yesterday for the 7500 mile service and to have the brakes fixed, radio replaced, and the rear selt belt recall taken care of. They changed my oil, fixed the seat belts, turned my rotors (I thought they would do more??), and then said "sorry, we sent your radio back."

Long story short: they've now ordered me another radio.

Round #2. Ding, ding!

seat belt

My rear center belt doesn't work. The retractor seemingly jambs. It's in the dealership today. I hope they fix it.

Don't feel bad....

Hell, don't feel bad...My dealer, Nissan of Apex, did the "brake fix" and the rear seatbelt recall on Dec. 29,04. They ordered me a new radio, new center seatbelt(it hangs too) and a front passenger belt(it hangs my wife...she ain't dead yet though!) Anyhoo, they call a WEEK ago saying
'we've had a change in parts management...we lost your order!' I said, fine, i'll call NissanUSA and see if you can get the parts before another 90 days! They call back, and the parts will take about a week. We'll see.

My truck has been at Nissan for almost 2 weeks now... I had a list of minor issues with only one major issue - the bed liner bubbles. Well, middle of last week, they call to tell me the story. Apparently they've contracted with Rhino to do the bed liner (this is after they put a new bed on the truck of course). After two days, the Rhino liner is NOT sticking to the paint. Rhino says it's the Nissan paint not allowing the liner to adhere, while Nissan says it's the Rhino liner that's at fault. Basically they are pointing fingers at one another, with me in the middle!!! Last I heard, a national Nissan rep came to town yesterday as well as a rep from PPG and a Rhino rep. At the end of the day, i'm pissed that it's been 2 weeks and that they can't figure out how to put a liner in a truck. What should I do? Ask for cash and get the liner done elsewhere?

Can they give you a new bed? I thought I heard people before say that was a solution?

Either way, I would express my displeasure in the fact that you're vehicle has been in their hands for over two weeks for bascially minor fixes.

But hey, you've still got the Supra to drive, so things can't be too bad!!

Good luck!!

Sound like a pissing match. First of all since the dealership contracted to Rhino as a sublet repair, the dealership is responsible for all repairs regardless who is at fauilt. If Rhino properly prepped the bed for refinish, the liner would have adhered to the surface. I find it hard to believe that it was the "Nissan" paint.

Best of Luck!

Well, the latest..... Nissan has said that the Rhino is not sticking, and that Nissan is sending a "kit" to the dealer to peel off the Rhino lining. At this point, i've told them to take it off, and pay for a dealer of my choice to apply the lining. Any suggestions as far as what lining and who I should get to apply it??? I'm in Houston...
Thanks
Peter

Might as well call consumer affairs, about the only correct solution for you is the complete bed replacement after being used for beta testing. Hey man GOOD LUCK!!!!!

TY, that's the WHOLE thing. This is a brand new, REPLACED 05 bed that just came from Nissan. They sprayed it at a Rhino dealer here in town...

Sorry, guess I overlooked that part. Talk to some of your friends with the spray in's and look at those to see who did the best job. You also might check the BBB. Good luck!

I've seen trucks sprayed with both the Rhinoliner and sprayed by Line-X and the Line-X seemed to be far better looking/feeling to me. Of course, this is just perception, but I'd see if you have a local Line-X delear and see if they can help you...
