Tire pressure warning light!!!

I came out of work tonight, started the truck, and my tire pressure light came on. I thought I might have a flat. Got out and checked and everything looked fine. Stopped at the gas station, put a little air in the two front tires, but the light is still on.

It is pretty cold here in Pittsburgh tonight (high 20's right now).

What tire pressure are you "cold weather guys" running???

How can I get this damn light to go off??

check tire pressures...
inflate to above 28psi, say about 35psi, cold air.
then drive for few minuits, the light will turn off.
np.

trivial fact: that sensor is about $70 per wheel, if you were to replace it for some reason.

Also, if you do pump them up when its real cold out, it can't hurt to check them if you get a warm afternoon. I put mine to 40 front/37 rear a few weeks ago, and yesterday I got ready to head home from school for the weekend, it was pretty sunny and warm. The tires were close to 50, over their max of 44 from the sidewall. Needless to say I drained them back down to 40 before I left.

Umm ... the sidewall markings are for max pressure cold ... i.e. not being driven on, after sitting for a while. the air will heat and expand as you drive. The tire was designed for this. I believe it even mentions it on the tire ... MAX xxPSI COLD. If you drained your tire down to 40PSI after driving on it for awhile, your tires are now underinflated. You air them down and hook up and try to tow that 9000# the Titan can, you seriously risk a blowout !!! Read ALL the directions, then apply what you read. ALso, BTW, higher air pressure generally get you better mileage ... just a side note

The temp here in Colorado Springs has been 2-40 lately. My light has been on for a few weeks. I have checked the pressure a couple of times and each tire reads 36psi. I haven't taken it in, or called the dealership so not sure exactly what the problem is.

*Side note: I am starting to get a vibration when I use the brakes at only 4,000 miles.

I think most of you are measuring your PSI after you have driven home from work or been out running an errand. Hopefully not, but be sure to check w/o even starting your vehicle. I had the sensor go off when the temperature fell to the low 30's here in Central Illinois and once I got the PSI up to 40 warm (I don't have a compressor at home and had to go somewhere to air them up) and drove it for awhile, the alarm turned off.

I'd love to just disable the warning light. I wonder if the dealer can do this. Mine goes on and off at random... makes them useless... like the boy who cried wolf.

If the temp drops, it's gonna set off the warning light. Mine did this when we first got down to 40 about a month ago...was on a for a few days, but when I checked the tires when it went off, they were 25-30psi, but within a few days it was back up to normal, plus it went into the dealer for an oil change within a week (but the light had turned off by then) and they should have checked the pressure and topped them off if necessary. It's already been down below freezing here and the light hasn't gone off again (knock on wood).

Hey, what's up? I am really from Connellsville (about 30 minutes south of the 'Burgh). I just say that I am from Pittsburgh because who the hell ever heard of Connellsville??

As far as Galaxy black being awesome..........ehhh.....

I wash mine constantly to keep it clean. Nothing looks better than a CLEAN black vehicle. But it is so hard to keep it that way. I have some minor scrathes on mine already (1000 miles) and they really stand out on the black paint. When you look at it one way it looks great, but if the sun hits it a certain way,and you look at it at a certain angle.....you see all the dust, water marks, swirls.....etc.....DINGS! (thankfully I don't have any of those...YET!)

STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am a Steeler FREAK!! I have tickets to the Steelers/Jets game. Can't wait.

That's why I drained them to 40 BEFORE I left, like I said above, lol. Truck hadn't been driven in over 24 hours at that point!

It would be nice if there was a way the warning light
could let you know which tire is causing the light to
illuminate. Something like the 4-wheel drive icon
and it would blink the low tire(s).
