Smile Hood Rattle

After having thought that I had something underneath the front end making a lot of noise going over bumpy streets, I have determined the problem seems to be the hood when it is fully latched. When the hood is not fully latched, no noise! Has anyone had this problem and how was it resolved? Can the hood latch be tightened somehow or must it be replaced?

Thanks.

I haven’t looked for an adjustment but I found the rubber hood stops can be manipulated to a degree. Look on the outer corners of the hood, these rubber stoppers are screwed in, I only noticed this when mine were just resting ready to fall off.

Question

Same here....I put some stick on foam where the rubber bumpers sit on a little protrusion on the front grill top......and screwed them in a little....when I opened the hood one day a bumper was sitting on the protrusion.....and surely would have fallen off and be lost.....didn't like that.
What kind of boiler do you make???? lol

Tom, I tried putting some foam on the the rubber bumpers myself but it did not seem to help. In fact, too much additional foam makes it sound worse.

My truck is as silent as can be except for this noisy hood. I guess I will just end up taking it to the dealer and hope for the best. Problem is, if they have not yet heard of the problem, they look at you like you are some kind of nut. That's why I try to figure things out as much as I can before I surrender to a dealer on matters like this.

Yeah I know....and what will get damaged when they are learning on your Titan!! The more you can do for yourself the better....but don't screw up the warranty man.
