The truth behind Galaxy Black clear coat...

There has been many arguments on whether or not the Galaxy Black paint job has a clear coat or not. Hopefully this will clear things up once and for all. Please comment.

I knew the Black and White had it.or at least my white did....just look under the hood.....flat color....Thanks for clearing the clearcoat.

What section of the ESM did you find that? I also noticed that per that info, the rear bumper is supposed to be actually painted the color of the truck (XE), where as they are silver for the XE.

Yeah I know, tell me about it. I was freak'n out for a while when I thought I bought a Black truck without a clearcoat..phew! Black needs a clearcoat more than any other paintjob!

i always new it was clear coated, never new there were people that thought it wasnt.

I am having a TERRIBLE time with my Black Titan. Only 1000 miles and scratches GALORE!! And I really take care of my vehicles too.

I think there is a problem with the paint. HAS TO BE!!!!!! I am beginning to think that I can scratch my paint with a Q-TIP!!!!!!

I have been saying this all along. If I rub it even with my finger it will scratch...no joke. No matter what touches the paint it leaves very very fine scratches that are easy to see when the sun is bright. Even my microfiber towels leave small swirl marks. I dont think there is anything you can do about it...live with it a guess.

I think I have to experiment with different waxs, polishes and other products. I want to learn how to use rubbing compound the right way. I never tried it but I think if done right it might help.

There are not many major things that bug me with the Titan, I think its a great truck, its the small stuff that makes me a little uneasy.

Yeah the little things.........like the fact that AIR will scratch my paint, radio SUX (being replaced tomorrow), the strange electrical "ticking" noise, major squeak and rattle from my front passenger seat (so annoying), front brake jutter (judder?....started 2 days ago), truck needs re-aligned (pulls to the right slightly), headlights need aligned (one aims straight, the other aims straight UP, I get high beamed all the time).........ahhhhh, the little things.

And I only have 1,100 miles on this truck!!! What's next??

Thanks for the post. That "Cleared" it up for me.

P.S. That just goes to show dealer(Bankston Nissan) doesn't know what they're talking about when the service mgr. told me Galaxy has no clear coat.

this is so true i have had a black truck before and have never had it scratch like this if you breath on it wrong it will scratch there has got to be something with this paint love truck but cant take scratches wish i never got the black actually thinking of selling it just for this reason cant take it anymore

I feel your pain brother. It is making me sick....literally! Spent alot of $$$ on this truck. I feel that I shouldn't be experiencing ANY (ANY!!) of these problems. Truck only has 1,100 miles on it!!!!! WTF??
