I took my titan to the deler yesterday for idiot light,
I have k&n cold air intake and three days before installed a JBA evol exhaust. They said it was running lean and wouldn't waist time looking for problem until I put the stock intake back on.
I don't know the code number, I replaced the stock intake and am taking it back to the dealer tomorrow , I really don't think it is anything serious though
that is what I thought, I hve had the intake on for 3 weeks and three days after putting on the exhaust this happened, I would think the ecm would adjust for these changes

Anyone else have any problems like that ?
I've known my service manager for 5 years, since he was just a desk jockey. He's a very responsible and intelligent guy. He's a straight shooter and tells it like it is. We were BSing one day when I dropped the Titan off for an Oil Change. I asked why they didn't offer aftermarket stuff. He said they've had problems especially with the K&N stuff. The trucks computer is set up for a certain spec and by changing Original equipment throws the computer sensors off. Since I didn't really pay close attention to what K&N product he was talking about, I don't recall, but he said once the K&N product was out and the OEM was put back, all was O.K. He was just stating that these computers are just very sensitive to everything and OEM stuff or equivanent must be used.

Have a good one.
That sounds like a non-explaination explaination. Other people's trucks run fine with intake and exhaust.
However, their troubleshooting computer CONSULT, and it's troubleshooting instructional database, is probably not set up to deal with aftermarket intake. A lot of these techs at the dealer are just computer monkeys (and I work in IT) who have no real troubleshooting skills, they just hook it up to the computer and do what it says.

I second that.
The most common reocurring problem with the K&N vs. the ECU is the oil of the filter dislodging and coating the MAFs enough to foul the sensor. The truck is able to adjust fuel/air mixture, so if the truck was running a bit lean, the fuel system would be adjusted accordingly, I would think.
