CNN Money article on vehicle value and retaining that value. Nissan was #3 this year. The only US company that was close was Volvo from Sweden that is owned by Ford at #5. GO TITAN BABY!!

I don't know if I would call it another reason to become a Titan owner but ...

Toyota Motor Corp. won four individual segments, as the Tacoma had the best retained value among compact trucks, the Sequoia was tops among fullsize SUVs, the 4Runner for the midsize SUV Segment, and the Tundra for fullsize trucks.

I have a feeling the 2004 Titans will be worth about $10,000 in a couple years.

Doh!! Thanks for ruining this post guys.

I highly doubt the 04 Titan will devalue that much in a few years. Not impossible, just not very likely...

Sadly I think you're right on the money! I checked the resale values of Chevys and Toyotas that are 2 years old and they have great resale(even at car auctions). It's just something we have to live with.

The Tundra is a fairly new model so if that has good resale what makes you thing that the Titan will have Yugo style resale? I can't even find numbers on the 04s yet. Relax, they will be worth a bit especially because of the fact that everything is prewired and all of the extras that come in it. I would have bought one used if I could have got as good of a deal as I did new.

I hope you're right and they hold their value. So far they're only $1000.00 behind.
Edmunds:

2004 Nissan Titan LE CC 4X4 12K miles clean cond.: $23273.00 Trade in value.
2004 Toyota Tundra LTD CC 4X4 12K miles clean cond.: $24300.00 Trade in value.

I don't believe it. Nissans aren't know for their great resale value. Not bad, but not great. And where's Mercedes?...I know MB holds its' value better than Nissans do. Somethings not right.

Electrical gremlins are killing MBs reliability ratings & resale value.

And that is all of the vehicles lumped together from each manufactor. I know someone with a year old 30k tundra who can't get more than 19k for it vs. many used tocomas for sale are sometimes are only 1 or 2 grand less than a new one.
