How much mileage out of the stock tires?

Those of you that have bought new tires, how long did the stock tires last and what kind were they?

I'm getting new tires in a few days, they got about 28k on them and are the Goodyear SRA 265/70/18. Is there some reason why Discount Tire told me that the GY SRAs are a 50k mile tire and i only got about 30k out of them?
I rotated them 3 times, was about to a 4th time until i saw how worn they are and decided to get new ones. Just curious what everyone else has experienced. Cheers

I don't have an answer for your question. (sorry)

I do know that not one tire store in Reno stocks our tire size. All must be special order.

What tires are you going w/??? I have the 18' rims & can not find many tires the same size. BFG All Terrain can be a bit smaller or a bit larger.

I'm trying to keep stock rims w/ aprx same tire size, but go w/ a more aggressive tread pattern.

I just noticed this today, my BFG- 17 off rd tires are more than half way worn out. They are not that far away from the ware tab's on all of the tires. I have only 15k miles on them!

I have rotates them every 6k so I do not know why they are like this?
I made some calls for a price on some new tires and was told that my BFG's should have lasted 50 to 60k miles.

I have never seen tires ware so fast.
How are the tires holding up on everybodys truck?

Deep.

DLove, i'm getting some Michelin Pilots in 275/60/18, one size up from what came on them. Like you said though it seems like the 265/70s are hard to find now b/c the Discount tires i'm going to would have had to special order them as well. Hopefully these things will last at least twice as long as those GYs

The 17" Off Road Pkg tires on our last one went 28,848 and they were probably good for another 7-8k or so before need replacement.

285/70/r17 at 12,000 miles

my rear tires (esp. on starboard side) are 80% worn, left side's about 60% worn, but my front rubbers are both about 30% worn. i just roatated 'em.

at $190 a tire, i hope they last to 30,000 miles

Big difference between BFG long/rugged trails and BFG AT KO. I have never been able
to get more than 30K out of the trails where as I can get at least 40K out of the AT
KO. Sidewalls are much bettter on the AT KO and tread pattern is better especially in
snow. If you are replacing your BFG trails I suggest you spend the extra 15/20 dollars
a tire and go to AT KO. I don't know much about the 18" stuff.

I have 21000 miles on my truck right now and I rotated twice. The rear tires are around 90% gone. I have little traction when turning and when water is present.

I'll be going with something with a little bit more aggressive tread pattern.

I agree with Zardoz on the BGF AT tires. Although I will be going with the 18" version. They are the only type of tire that I have gotten over 20K with(AT tires).
I have 9K On my 18" GY's and if I am lucky I may get 15K. I am not disappointed in the tires wear. They are poor quality tires.
My Tundra came with BGF Rugged trails, and I got 15k out of them. There was some tread left but the sidewalls were gone. Replaced them with BGF AT and had 40k on them when I traded it in on the Titan. They still had 10 or 15K left in them. I drive on 2 lane mountain roads. The nearest interstate is 200 miles away.
The best thing about the BFG AT's is that I had no more sidewall flats. 13 On the Tundra, I have had 6 sidewall flats so far on the GY's.

Same story, I noted today that my BFG - 17 OR tires are about 50% worn at about 14,000 miles, and they seem to be wearing a bit faster in the center (cupping). They get lousy reviews at www.tirerack.com

Replace my BFG's 17 at about 25000 maybe they had another 3000 but with snow they were not looking too safe.

Believe it or not, I traded in a Silverado with BFG AT KO's (285/16s) and they had just under 100,000 miles on them. They had enough tread to last maybe another 10k or so safely. I was amazed. The Goodyears I had before that only lasted 45k.

My last truck was a frontier with long trail ta 's on it. put 89000 miles on first set. I don't think the bridgestones on my titan will ever see that kind of milaege but i hope they do alot better than 30000. that would mean a new set of tires every 9 months for me. OUCH!!!

285-17 O-R, Now 1/2 worn at 20K miles. Not bad in snow this week. I expect to get 40K and change them before next winter's snow. They've experienced 70% highway, 30% suburban roads.

I should point out that when I say 40K on BFG ATKO tires vs 30K on the BFG rugged
trails I am using these tires hard towing and going on a lot of dirt/gravel/ rock road
like Death Valley. It is not unusual on BFG ATKO to get 60K+ on normal roads. Like
skyhammer where you use your tires has a big influence on tire life.
