Thinking of selling my Titan need some ideas

Well I really dont want to sell my Titan, I really love my truck even though I have had some problems with it. My dealership has always taken care of me. Anyways I will probably have to sell it because my fiance and I ran into some money problems and my truck payment every month is killing me. Anyways I have had the truck since March 04. It is a SE 4x4, smoke, w/captians chairs, and the RF sound system. It has 13K miles on it as well. When I bought it in March I paid $29,000 out the door. Oh yeah I also have a transferable 100,000 mile warranty. I still owe about $18,500 on it, and I would be happy if I could just pay off the loan and get a little extra out of it. Any chance I could sell my truck for say $22,000-$24,000? I just wondered if you guys could help me. Thanks again!

As much as it hurts, selling before it's repoed or your forced into bankruptcy is very wise.(got to protect that credit for houses etc.)
Moral support is the best I can do for ya.There are other trucks.

Good luck.

Unfortunately unless you trade it off for something that has huge cash back incentives your not going to get much for it.. The research I have done so far has shown the Titans not worth much on resale or trade in value. I sure it will get better once the 2004's have been cleared out.

dk26....Dude, I wish i only owed $18.5k on mine.....How about refinancing the loan? You are really getting rid of a nice truck.....You'd be lucky to get a used Frontier for that price... If you have to sell it, try a local reputable used car dealer and consign sell the truck.....It won't sit there a week!

Last week I traded my 2004 XE CC 4x4 with popular package (6 disc radio, power door locks & windows) and 22,000 miles - I went to two dealers one offered $2o000 the other $24000. I took the $24k.

you could get 22-24 easy if you ask me especially with only 13k

why not trade it in on a 1500 big horn, I saw one local yesterday for 23k fully loaded

or just list it in autotrader and dont go lower than 20-22k for cash for the model you have

The trade-in on our '04 SE KC 2WD with almost 29k was $19,500 when we went for the '05. You should be able to glean $21-$22k for your SE 4X4 if KC and probably another $1500-$2000 if it is a CC.

I agree though, if you want to keep her...try a refi on her and stretch out the loan to lower your payments.

I've noticed that Kelley Blue Book and NADA aren't even giving trade-in or retail values for used 2004 Titans.

I'm curious what my LE CC 4X4 with 8350 miles is worth.

Well I do not know what your exact financing situation is, but if you think your low income situation is temporary, I guess I would look into refinancing the truck. If you only owe 18.5k, you could probably get your monthly payments as low as 300 a month with a 72 month loan. If you do go this route, I would tack on some extra money each month when you are able to afford it to pay the loan off in a year or two. I always hate giving my money to the bank so I pay my loans off as quickly as possible without squeezing the wallet to hard.

Thank you everyone for all your advice. I havent decided 100% if Im going to get rid of it but it is one option. So far I have been making extra payments, I practically fully financed the whole truck. So in 9 months I have paid off around $10,000. Its just my fiance lost her job and now that we are a one icome family it is getting harder to pay for my truck, even the minimum monthly payment. She is actively looking for a job, so we shall see. Again thanks everyone for the ideas. I will keep you guys posted.

good luck, you'll be back...

Moral support is the best I can do for ya.There are other good used 4x4 trucks to be had for cash.

I ran around in 1979 toyota 4x2 and a 1986 nissan 4x4 pickup for a while to save money

get a good used nissan 4x4 pu, (from the '90s) for all cash, $3000~6000 and build up your savings and credit

then get back into a 4x4 XE titan in a few years

i would be just as hppay on a XE or SE or LE as long as it's Titan 4x4

i was very happy with my old 1986 Nissan 4x4 mini pickup until another driver damaged the engine, lack of oil, was not the old truck's fault

moral: do not lend your truck and keep up your credit rating

Not to mention the shock and disbelief when you go to trade it in and find out you owe 4 or 5 thousand more than it's worth.OUCH!
Thats hard to recover from.
Todays lending practices are nothing more than legalized loan sharking. And then financial institutions have the audacity to scream bloody murder because the bankruptcy numbers are at all time highs year after year.
