There have been earlier posts about the oil filter being screwed down WAY too tight at the factory. Mine was. I used a strap wrench. You could also use a chain type wrench. If worse comes to worse, stick a large screwdriver through it.

We took our Titan in for its first oil change. After 1 1/2 hrs. the service guy says sorry about the delay, but we had to cut the filter off. This sure sounds like over tightening to me.
yes, some major over-tightening here. there is no need to tighten to the point of having to use tools to remove if the seal is in place and clean, I always tighten and remove by hand. In fact, over-tightening can cause a leak by distorting the seal.
I use one of those black tools that fit over the end of the filter. You can get them at Walmart. They are indexed by Fram part numbers, but work fine to get off the OEM filter. The OEM filter was on mine a bit tight, but with the tool and the breaker bar it was loose with one firm tug. Look for one that is compatible with PH7317, which is the Fram part number for the Titan.
Note: do NOT use the tool to tighen the filter, tighten it by hand. Also don't use Fram filters, they are the suck!

If that doesn't work try a large screw driver through the filter, the only problem with this option is that your truck is parked until you change it.
If the filter is banged up, you shouldn't drive it anyways as there is a good possibility that you have collapsed the inner metal tube that holds the filter media from collapsing inwards.

LOL I just went through this yesterday on the first change of the '05. I ended up having to usea screwdriver punched through it myself to get it off...my cap type filter wrench just kept slipping and not turning anything.
http://www.lislecorp.com/tool_detail.cfm?detail=1051 This works great for small filters like the titans. the tighter the filter, the harder it clamps. I have never had A filter that it would not take off, and I use it every day.
Mine too was a PITA! The problem is the limited space you have to get good solid leverage. I used a metal strap wrench and after some time, I was able to get it off. I made sure the new one went on hand tight, then another 1/2 to 3/4 turn as always. Next one will be a snap.

I had 4 cars that I bought new, every single time the Oil Filter was so tight, that I ussually take it to the dealer, or another oil shop so I can watch and see how they do it, sometimes learning from the pros is faster, better, safer than from the manual, anyway, yes the first oil change I let the dealer do it, after that I do my own oil changes and the filter goes hand tight, as hard as I can but always by hand, no tools and never a problem.

Have you tried this wrench on your Titan's filter? I did and the wrench was too big.
