05 tailgate assist on 04 successful!?!?

http://www.nissantitan.info/forum_posts.asp?TID=1144

suppossedly the first has been accomplished, no great detail but seems to be reliable info. I part on the 04 needs to be drilled and a the new hinge is unpainted but other than that the guys claims to have done it.

Looks like he changed his mind. From link above:
"SORRY GUYS I WAS WRONG ON THE QUICK INSTALL OF DAMPANED TAILGATE AFTER FURTHER LOOKING I DID SEE YOU HAVE A LITTLE MORE WORK TO DO TO INSTALL...I CAN BE DONE BUT IT WOULD REQUIRE ANOTHER BRACKET AND SOME SHEET METAL WORK SORRY AGAIN..."

Don't blame me. I'm just the messenger.

its been researched extensively and the parts and modification needed is way too much of a hassle. It can be done with the right parts and drilling required with the right DIY attitude.

You could also trade in the '04 for an '05.
