Will the SLIP mode cancel cruise control?

If I am trveling with the cruise on and I hit a patch of black ice going up a grade and the rear wheels start to slip will the "slip" mode cancel the cruise?

I don't want to find out so I never use my cruise in the rain or if there is a chance of ice.I've seen people go shooting out into fields along the highway and I've always had a theory that the cruise put them there.Don't know this for a fact, and I'm not interested in finding out.

I learned that lesson last year. DON"T USE CRUISE WHEN IT IS SLIPPERY OUT!!!

I had the cruise on while returning home on a trip that was a mixture of rain and sleet. What I didn't realize is that the further north I was going, the colder it was getting (I live in WI). Needless to say when I was a going up a hill the cruise "compensated" to keep me at 65mph and my SUV went into this crazy spin on the freeway. I lightly touched the brakes which shut the cruise off and somehow (anyone believe in miracles?) I made it back into my lane and was pointing the right direction. Lucky no other cars were in the vicinity. After that I went home and changed my drawers.

Do not use the cruise control when driving
under the following conditions:

c In heavy traffic or in traffic that varies in speed. <--- LOL... Duh

Sad that they have to tell you things like this.

To answer your question, Yes it will cancel the cruise. I have had my cruise on and hit a puddle it starts to hydro and slip and the cruise shuts you down. It works really well. you cant even sense a slip, but the light flashes and the cruise shuts down.

Nice feature for those of us who dont live by the book!

Kind of related, but...
Anyway, I was driving a 4cyl 97 Nissan Hardbody stick shift, from LA to Las Vegas, I have been working the engine rather hard to keep up with traffic going up a long long hill, once we got to the top the traffic slowed down and the oil temp was a little hotter than normal, well, I kept on driving and when I tried to pick up speed (just a little) I was going no where, nothing, I just heard the engine rev but I did not go any faster, I tried again and nothing I could not Keep up with the traffic ... ???? what? what is going on here... then I remember that I had run the truck really hard and the first thing that came to my mind was the clutch, dammed I ruined the clutch, but it is a truck, made to tow and so forth it should be able to handle an up hill, right?..

Well.. it wasn't the clutch it was ICE, maybe black ICE I did not see, so every time I gave it gas the truck was spinning the wheels going about 40 MPH, not so safe, and it wasn't that cold... anyway that was my first time I met ICE on the freeway.
