While on a recent hunting trip, I found myself on an unmaintained road that was extremely muddy. The good news is that the truck performed great and had no problem getting through the 2 miles or so of very muddy conditions. The only concerning thing was that while getting through the mud, I noticed a whine in the front end (actually sounded as if it was coming from the left front hub) when I turned a bit left of center. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed a similar thing.
i had a whine when doing some offroading myself for the first time, and what it turned out to be a regular sound that happens when your in 4LO, to my understanding all trucks make a whining sound when in 4LO, so the question is were you in 4LO? hehe
I was actually in 4HI when I experienced the noise. I figured it to be normal since I didn't feel anything unusual in the wheel when it occurred, but I have never experienced anything like it in any of the other trucks I have owned...although the other trucks I have owned have never had automatic 4WD and have been pretty primitive.
