Did you try to open it from the inside? I find when mine is stuck, it is just the outside handle, and that it will open from the inside, I know it is a PITA, but atleast you can let someone get into the truck.

Also, if you have access to a climate controled garage, bring the truck in, when it heats up spray some silicone lubricant into the handle. This is not a fix, but I have found that it then requires lower temps to make it get stuck.

Other than that, I say go to the dealer and Bi**h the hell out of them, the more we all complain, the sooner they will hopefully put out a TSB.

Otherwise, good luck! - also I thought, you might want to try some of the spray de-icer, I was planning to get a can, but have not tried it yet.

Well I figured I wouldnt do much of a self fix until after I let them givie it a try. It is outside right now because I work all night. So when I get there in the morning it will/should be the same and be able "duplicate" the problem. However I am sure after it sits inside waiting to be fixed it will warm up enough and work great for the tech.
So I am hoping that me showing them and them trying it will be enough to make sure I am not the idiot that can't open his own door.
I was just hoping that there was some place to look for this bulletin.... thanks

I have the same problem... 20 degree temperatures and if I dare to try to get in the drivers side door I get rewarded with a very chilly ride to work down the interstate cause the door wont close. It has happened to me about 8 times. At first I thought it was because I washed it and the handle was freezing up, but it has been a while since I visited a car wash. I called and talked to the service rep at dealership and he was like "Well thats not good, bring it in and we will grease it up for you... bring it in Thursday". Told him about the bulletin and he said that he has not heard about it. I was like of course you havent heard of it, there are only 2 Titans driving around this area compared to 1000 Chevrolets! I asked him if he could look for the bulletin! Basically it is going to be in the 50s Thursday and I am looking forward to wasting my time at the dealership since I know that they will not be able to recreate the problem. Oh and I cant wait to discover the new problems they will create by tearing the door panel off

Thumbs up Handles work to 3°F so far here

I haven't had any problems so far....5-04 SEKC.....and tried the doors down to 3°F here and 40 mph winds.....it works "NORMAL" so far!
My friend in Michigan says her e-door loc and e-windows and door handles haven't worked in ultra low temps. in her Camry..

Here are all of the part numbers to fix this problem

Here are all of the part numbers off my work order so that all you guys can get this fixed.

I have a Crew Cab so 4 total doors, and the numbers are for this type of truck, king cabs rear doors have different numbers.

1.# 80640-7S000. Grip-outside HA. I damage it trying to open the door so they replaced it with a new one.

2.# 80611-7S000. Bracket-Outside for the above door handle.

3.# 80500-7S000. Lock and Remote C

4.#80501-7S000. Lock and Remote C

5. #82500-8S500 Lock and remote C

6.#82501- 8S500 Lock and Remote Con

These are all of the parts that were needed to fix all of the doors on my Crew Cab.

After all of these new Cables and Latch Mechanisms were installed, my doors have worked great no matter how cold it was outside!
They all work very smooth, like they should!

Everyone with this problem, This is the only fix for it!
You have to replace all of the old cables and latch Mechanisms with the new updated ones.
Nissan made a change in there design back in late last spring, I would think that the trucks built after April or May of 04 should all have these new updated parts on them.

I called the dealer to get the bulliten # from them for you guys, they said it was not a TSB, but they found one bulliten on there dealer web page were the dealers go to post all of the problems and the fixes for them.

So that some dealers can find a fix for the problem alot faster when there is no TSB out.
Why Nissan has not put out a TSB on this is a JOKE!
They redesign the parts for the doors to fix this problem but dont tell anyone about it!

No TSB'S Zero info on it!
I as well as my new dealer do not understand this!

I hope that all of your dealers will take the doors apart when they are not working right and they will see that all of the cables are binding up!

And that the only way to fix this right is to install all of the new updated Cables and Latch Mechanisms that Nissan came out with for all of us with this VERY POOR design!

I hope this info helps all of you out!

Deep.

Thanks Deepwater for the info. I just got off the phone with Nissan Consumer Affairs and I got the usual reply: "We have not heard of this problem". He also indicated that their is no updates for the door cables and that as far as he can tell the door linkage assemblies are the same on the early build 04's as they are on the ones coming off the assembly lines now. My latch broke last Monday and the replacement is still on order and is expected to be shipped next week. Its a real pain in the neck to keep opening the door through the passenger side to just get in the truck. All four doors are sticking when its cold and I know its going to happen again as the dealer laughed when I showed him these posts that indicated that there is a "design flaw". All they intend on doing is fixing the broken latch and then they'll give the normal canned response "We could not duplicate the problem" I'll keep you all posted as I suspect this will get interesting.

If I told you how many times Nissan Comsumer Affairs has told me the same thing. It's a canned responce! They must have told me at least 10 different times that they never herd of the radio problems and thats after I had all ready opened a file on it mounths before!
Try going to a different dealer, my new dealer replaced all for doors with no problem, parts were on back order so they took parts off a titan they had on there lot that had the new parts already on it.

There is nothing worse than not being able to open and or close your doors on your truck! And when it's very cold outside you just want to smash somthing! It's that bad,

I have not had one problem with any of my doors not working right after all the new parts were installed. we had temps aroung -30 below zero and still all doors worked great.
Before I would have been stuck where ever I was because the doors would not fuction when it was 30 degrees or colder out.

I hope that everyone that has this problem with there doors will be able to get them fixed like I did!
The part numbers that I gave out for this were all of the parts that were needed to fixed this problem with all of my 4 doors.

Deep.

same problem with door handle staying OPEN on cold mornings...

Brought it to the dealership and they told me new cable/latch assembly needed. Sadly its on "national backorder" whatever that means...

But a heads up...if you get into your truck and cycle the doors locks with the remote (stopping in the locked position), the door will shut - at least on mine.

What a pain in the arse.

New England Titan.... Have you asked them to take the parts off of another titan they have on the lot so that they can get you back on the road with working doors?

My dealer was not going to wait around for the parts to come in, it was a safty concern!

My doors were fixed back in Dec. and the parts were all on back order then! These parts have been on back order way to long!

I still have not had any problems using my doors sence the repair was done.
This is the fix for this problem,I would push your dealer or another dealer to get the parts one way or the other.

Even if you have to take them off of a another truck on there lot so be it.

I hope you and everyone else that has this very bad design will get it repaired before to long!

Deep.
