Power tow package mirror questions.

I was thinking about installing a set of the big tow package mirrors on my XE.
Courtesy Parts has them. All they list is electric with heaters. I just wondered if anyone knew if the XE was pre-wired for the mirrors? I need a mirror that extends out so I can see past my enclosed trailor better.
Does anyone know of anouther solustion?? I saw that crappy strap on's a wallmart!!LOL

Thanks

I don't know if the XE is pre wired, but I be willing to bet that the mounting method is the same for both your old mirrors and the tow package mirrors. I can't say enough about the tow package mirrors. You have to watch out for 'em in tight spaces (they're pretty huge), but the convex mirror on the bottom rules, as well as the ability to pull them WAAAY out for trailering.

You might just have to mount them and forget about the heated mirror feature, if the XE doesn't have the wiring for them. I think it would still be worth it.

The heating element is in the mirror. The only thing needed will be power and a ground probably. Doesnt seem like much of a problem to wire to the fuse block. I love my mirrors and Half Shovel is correct. The bottom wide angle mirror is extremely useful especially on an on ramp etc. Good luck.

I figured I could just wire the mirror heaters up on a timer and switch to get them working.
The problem is the power mirror part, if you push around on them much the gears could strip out. My buddy has a tundra and his power switch went bad so he was moving them around manually and broke the drivers side mirror motor and it started flopping around.
I guess I could make up a harness and buy the factory swith and make em work myself. It would just be a WHOLE lot easier if it were pre wired. I guess I'll just pull the door panel off and check it out.
