Has anyone heard of a new Brake TSB coming out? I was at my dealer last night when they told me of a new TSB for larger brakes coming out any day now. I was going to get mine done when they stated to wait for the new one coming out as the old TSB seems to be just a temporary fix. Was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about this? I have about 6500 miles on my SE and my brakes are starting to go. My truck was built in June of 04. Gotta love these beasts, I hope nissan works out the bugs eventually.

yeah mine is already coming back and it was only in the shop last thursday for a 2nd brake job....I dealt with the same thing with my Tundra, fixed with larger rotors, calipers, etc. Fixed it once and for all.

This is the one and only thing that ticked me off on the '04
(5 times in 10 months - 28k miles) and now the first on the '05 at
5k. I have been waiting a loooong time for the actual fix to come
out vice the band-aid.
For us this is the ONLY thing that bugs us about the truck...The '05
has been solid thus far with this exception...please oh please let this
be 'it'!

4,100 miles and no brake judder yet...I suppose any minute it will happen.....glad that is the only bug for you as I have a 05 KCSE replacement coming soon....but I guess it will have the same brakes as yours. Hows the transmission downshifting????
News! My dealer told me a new TSB would be out soon and the only thing holding it up is stocking the parts and Nissan is doing some final metals testing. They think the fix involves new and larger rotors and different calipers. They say the rear brakes are fine and only the fronts are affected. Nissan had told them that the start date of the new TSB would be within 6 weeks. They said they have nothing in writing but got this info after complaining to Nissan about customer complaints. They also said a lot of Titans have had absolutely no problems with the brakes even though they have been towing heavy loads. So, we wait and see.

That's what I've been doing now for over 13,500 miles. I tow a 16 foot trailer with a Kobota tractor on it and no brake judder. This whole thing just makes no logical sense unless they have more than one vendor supplying rotors?
You think it will look funny with larger Rotors and calipers in the front? I have not had any brake problems yet, but I would like the upgrade... Think they would change them if I do not have any problems or should I wait.

I have the dreaded Judder. I reduced it by backing off the torque on my lug nuts to 85 ftlbs from 98 ftlbs. Man, I hope this new TSB is a cure cause I really like the rest of my Titan.
jeezuz, can't they speed up the process on that TSB and parts for crying out loud, my brake judder is so bad it rattles my teeth, sometimes it even feels like i'm not going to stop!!! The hotter they get the more violent the judder, i called my service advisor and no answer, just a f***in voicemail... what did i actually expect, service? yeah right... anyways i'm going to have to be persistent to at least get a temporary fix for now or i just might not stop... my current judder is going to rattle my titan to pieces and/or add additional mystery dashboard rattles...
isn't it funny that when you go to a dealership as a buyer they're on you like flies on sh*t, but when you need a TSB addressed they drag their feet through the mud, with the attitude that maybe as time goes by, you'll just forget about it... ridiculous

If the New Fix comes out as a TSB and not a Recall, then yeah your rotors will have to be warped to get the fix.
There are ways you can intentionally warp the rotors. I remember having trouble with an F150, coming home down a mountain from a snow boarding trip. We were going faster than posted and by the time we hit the bottom of the mountain the rotors were about as badly warped as you can drive with. I think the rapid temperature changes had something to do with it.
Anyways, the larger brakes in front will look better, IMO. The majority of vehicles this model year have larger calipers/rotors in front and smaller in the rear. It should be that way because of the much heavier braking required at the front of any front-engine vehicle.
