Sirius antenna

I called the nissan dealership and they said that if i go with sirius over xm, the sirius antenna is in the windshield. Anyone have pics or know exactly where it is put when the dealership installs the satellite radio?

there is no "in winshield" antenna. like posted above in a few months sirius will release an inside anteena, but the only thing i can think what they mean by in the windshield antenna is that some people have mounted the magnectic antenna just above the top windshield line on the roof and run the wire in the windshield rubber gasket, but other than that I'm lost as to what the dealer was claiming.

Sure is...

The SIGMA glass mount antenna is *just* shipping.

Part number is 999U9-VR002 List $74.

Eliminates an external antenna. Eliminates a metal surface mount.

(I'm trying to see if I can use it with my receiver, and stumbled on this post- thought I'd add my two cents.)

Mines on the roof just in front of the third brake light and works beautifully.

Mine is on the dashboard at the bottom of the windsheild. Works just as well as the one in my car that is on the roof.

I have an XM antenna mounted in the exact same spot, and I rarely have any reception problems.

What? $74 for a Sirius antenna. That's almost twice the cost of the TERK Mini at $39.99 at Crutchfields.

That's typical of the Nissan Versions of Sirius and/or XM addons. They have made adding Sirius (or XM) so much more expensive than it needs to be. I am glad I did not buy top of the line stereo and I added my own head unit with Sirius and Navigation. Both of my antennas are in front of the third brake light.

I said it wasnt a bad price because when I use to work at a stereo shop we charged $99.95 for the OLD style antenna's, not the new little ones. I also said "well I guess we'll see when someone gets it" implying that it sounded like a decent price, but I wasnt sure untill someone actually had one we could see and also tell us how reception is...

I thought this was a Terk product? I guess I miss read the post, I had read one before that talked about this antenna being made by Terk. If so maybe we could get a better price once they start selling them...
