Cool Factory Sirius with 04 Titan and Rockford system

After much investigation and talking with both Nissan and my dealership, I was able to get the dealer to install Sirius Satellite Radio as part of the factory Rockford Foassgate stereo system.

Maybe someone else has done this but as far as I can tell from the web, I'm the first one. I'm stoked!
I don't have all the details on part numbers yet, but once I have the TSB info that the dealership is writing up for me I will post it along with photos of the antenna and wire routing paths.

Basically they ordered a sirius kit for a Pathfinder armada and installed it. The antenna is mounted from the above cab tail light/cargo light with the wire exiting the passenger side and mounted to the right horizontally from there. The only difference between the armada and the titan is that the armada has a satellite antenna extension cable pre mounted in the roof so the dealer had to order and install that part in my titan.

After everything was all hooked up, they turned it on and BAM! Sirius Satellite radio in my titan. The unit comes with a 3 free month trial even to boot!

Granted this option is more expensive then many of the after market systems available at best buy and Utilmate electronics but it integrates with the steering wheel controls and factory system much more cleanly without the need for an external display.

I am usually a advocate of aftermarket systems but I have been so impressed with the Rockford Fossgate 10 speaker system that was part of my Titan LE crew cab, it was nice to be able to integrate sirius into the factory system.

I will post all the part numbers and information on installation if anyone is interested please feel free to contact me.

Otherwise if you're in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota area Klein Nissan in Maplewood can do this modification for you. It cost about $650 out the door. If you are interested please contact Jeff Miller at Klein Nissan (651) 379-4300.

For now, I'm off to hit the road with my Sirius and my sweet 305Hp baby.

Congrats. Not to burst your bubble, but many have done the same on this board. I installed mine about 3 months ago, and I love it too. Commercial free radio is great. Having the ability to skip past TV commercials with TiVo at home, it killed me to have to listen to commericals on the road over regular radio.

My dealer offers it too for about $360. I think they are smoking crack because the stereo store around here quoted me $159 installed for sirrius.

The $360 from your dealer is the factory OEM sirius module that connects to the factory Rockford Fossgate systems. The price I quoted includes the Nbus connector, the bracket to mount the factory OEM sirius module, antenna, and installation labor. The $159 you were quoted is probably for an aftermarket sirius kit available at Places like best buy or Ultimate Electronics. I promise you it isn't the OEM Nissan Sirius module.

Additionally Nissan doesn't support this option on the Titan because of the anenna that comes with Sirius. I had to talk the dealer into doing this for me along with giving them all the info and research I did.

No part #'s yet

I will have the part numbers when I have the last of the work done on my truck on Tuesday, there was a warentee issue with the power adjustable pedals not moving the break pedal properly. Once I have that I should have the write from the dealer on exactly how they did it and what part numbers were required to do it. Also I'll try to post some pictures of the wire routes of the antenna and everything. I should have all this by Wed of next week or so.

Uh, I installed mine in my LE for $0. Yes, it's the OEM Clarion tuner for Nissan. I had it in my G35 coupe and actually got it free with a credit voucher about a year and a half ago. And yes, I replaced the original large antenna with the new Terk SIR-MINI and put it out the 3rd brake light onto the roof. Sorry, but this has been done by many at this point. For much less money I might add.

Does anyone know where to get the OEM Sirius Tuner? Do we have to go through our dealer? I've looked on "247", "Mossy" and "Courtesy" and they don't seem to carry it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Giffordt . . . these folks have it. Price may be lower than Jamie's. Take a look anyway.
Other members have mentioned getting their sat add-on kit from Grubbs. They're in Texas.

Part numbers?

Can someone provide me with the part numbers for this install? I am being told over and over that an 04 cannot get a factory Sirius radio, only XM.

Thanks,

KL

Hose . . . click on the link in post #12, above. That gets you to the Nissan Sirius add-on available from Grubbs. The actual part # may not be there, but if you want to buy it from your dealer, call Grubbs - I'm sure they'll give you the p/n.
