That's right folks direct from Nissan Corporate: The 05 Titan's are not out yet.
There's a bit of a story to this I thought yall might find interesting
I ordered my 05 titan through a dealership here in Idaho. It's been taking freekin' forever to get the truck in, and I keep pestering the salesman... "Is it there yet??? ... is it there yet??? ... How 'bout now?..." Anyway I'm getting the impression form the salesman that I'm becomming a pain in the arse and decided to try and see if Nissan Corporate could find out when my truck will be delivered.
Heres the shortend version of the conversation:
Me: "Nissan Corporate? Yes, I was wondering if you could track down the titan I ordered?"
Lady: "Sure, I'm not sure how I would do that...."
Me: "Well the dealer gave me the VIN number if that might help"
Lady: "Ok, let's start with that."
Me: "1N......."
Lady: "Ok, ok, ok.... hang on... Sir that's an 05 Titan"
Me: "Right, I'm pretty excited"
Lady: "Hang on just a second"
....... 5 minutes go by .....
Lady: "Sorry about that sir... Looks like the 05 Titans aren't out unit the Fall of 04. You'll just have to wait"
Me: "Sooooo...... Umm..... You are saying that the 05 titans are not out yet, and that they will be available in the fall of 04?"
Lady: "That's correct sir"
Me: "What season is it now?"
Lady: "Um... Winter"
Me: "Riiiight. Does fall come before or after winter?"
Lady: "Sir, my supervisor says that the 05 titans are not out yet."
Me: "Why does my dealership have 3 of them then?... Nevermind..."
I was laughing so hard I hung up before I could say anything that made me sound like a bastard.
What burns me even more is that Nissans tracking system is sooo bad that they can't tell you when your truck will be due. All they will say from the dealership is "It's in route". I had a buddy that bought an explorer from ford and he had the same request.. "Where's my truck?" The dealer said "Wait.... Looking this up.... Ah, found it, it's east of denver right now" I guess ford can track thier shipments via GPS.
Darn, I was hoping to get my truck for christmas...
Oh well. That's people for ya!

Where is your 05!??
Adso.....what model and packages did you order?????? I'm waiting for one also.....best I could get is 1-5 weeks to arrive. I hope on Monday when the holidays are over they will be putting the parts together and shipping soon. Good luck!!
adso, in a previous thread, i asked the same question. i ordered an 05 CC LE in Oct, and was told that it might, might arrive by the end of Feb. that's 4 mths, and i can't get any info from either the dealer or Nissan Canada. what's worse, nobody seems to give a damn.
i've been told there's a side airbag problem with the 05 LE CC's. all of this kind of ticks me off, almost enough to order a dodge, which i could have in about two weeks.
btw, the new 05 Rams have bigger backseats, and have been restyled a little. still gonna wait for the titan, but how long is the question. anybody think 4 mths is unreasonable?
Actually "Ordering" from Nissan has never been an option. Don't let anyone tell you different. And it's still that way even though they're built here. They can only wait for the vehicle you want to come off the line.
They can do a search for the vehicle you want and swap it from another dealer. The 05s have been out for some time now, it's possible yours is out there...somewhere...waiting for you!
BTW, the Dodge hasn't changed size-wise for 05. The cabin is identical in size even if restyled somewhat. Still not gonna match the Titans 126 CU FT interior and huge rear doors. But if that's not really important to you, I know a few who own the Ram and are very happy with it. Good luck!

the titan is the better truck in my opinion, and my other Nissan has served us well. so i'm gonna stick with it. on their website, the dodge numbers are actually bigger than the titan as far as rear seat leg room goes. i sat in one the other day, seemed to fit me ok and i'm 6'2.
things are different here in Canada. at the dealership i go to, i'm the only person who has ordered an 05 CC. not exactly truck country. transport Canada, the government agency, apparently hasn't given the 05 LE CC a passing grade in terms of airbag safety.
so i wait. my point is that my dealer, and every other dealer here, doesn't care what i do. the titan is an expensive truck, by comparison. that doesn't seem to be true in the USA, from what i've read in prior posts. you'd think that with the kind of money i'm gonna shell out, they'd contact me and let me know what's up with my truck.
instead, as Adso said, i'm a pain in the *** for the dealer. do they let me know what's really going on? no. do they offer me a little incentive to keep me happy whilst i wait? no
could i order a truck in the US? might look into it, cause i'm close to the border.

this is my xmas rant. thanks for listening.
Not sure how things are done there in Canada so I can't say...sorry.
As for rear seat room, The Titan has a 4" advantage in leg room (40.4 vs 36.4) over the Ram Quad Cab, and rear head room is also better in the Titan. Front head and leg room also go to the Nissan. Interior volume is 126 CU FT vs 121 CU FT, which is a HUGE difference.

The best thing to do to find the truck you want is to go to the Nissan site and build it to exactly what you want.
Then, locate the dealer in the area that has it. Get the VIN numbers to make sure you locate it correctly. If the model is not at a local dealer, see if the local dealer will get the one you want from the dealer that is farhter away.
Another idea is if you find the model at your local dealer and it is almost perfect (only missing 1 or 2 options you can live without) try to hack down a better deal.
GOOD LUCK

Great idea. The only ones you won't find this way are ones enroute from the factory to the dealership. Until they're logged at the dealer, they're MIA. Just keep searching. Like LLK said, you can always get one either missing 1 or 2 items or, better yet, one that has something you didn't want to pay for, and haggle for price.

05's are definitely out because i bought mine a week ago, on dec 19th, its an 05 smoke LE, its currently snowing outside and i get to test her out in the snow, however be weary of the fact that the fuel gauge might not function correctly, mine doesnt and my dealership is ordering me a new fuel system from the fuel tank to the gauge cluster, although i suggested the cluster/sending unit might be ther problem.
QUESTION: My LE says its 4x4 however it runs on the rear wheels and i have the switch that makes it 4h and 4lo, does this mean my truck is 4x2??? or what??? im confused

Hey Y'all!
I am a noobie to TitanTalk, but work for a very large dealer group here in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky for a while (both sales and service) and know a bit about how car companies work.
I work now for one of our Honda dealers but have worked in our automall selling everything from GM to Nissan to Jeep. It seems that Honda and Nissan both run their facotries the same way. No special orders! With Honda they build in batches of 63, if I remember correctly (not sure about Nissan). When there is at least 63 "Build Requests" from dealers then that batch is scheduled for production. If you want a car that has not been requested by at least 63 dealers, you will have to wait until at least 63 dealers do so. If at least 63 dealers do not want the car you want you may not ever get one! Believe me, I had this situation with an oddball Accord order (2002 Green 4-door 5-speed Accord LX with optional ABS and Side Airbags). This made for a very interesting phone call to the customer!
I know Daimler/Chrysler builds to order. The Window sticker even says "This vehicle built specially for Such N. Such". GM and Ford will special order as well and you can track them all either online or by phone.
It is cool to track your truck, but the batch build method is one of the methods used by Honda, Toyota, Nissan to keep prices down and quality high.

If you have the switch then you have 4 wheel drive.
To use 4H turn the switch. For 4L ,stop, shift the trans to Neutral then turn the switch. If both rear wheels are the only ones spinning then you are in two wheel drive. Remember to turn the switch back to 2H when on dry roads
I don't know how to say this but, if you bought a truck and can't figure out if it's a 4X2 or 4X4, you should go right to your local Motor Vehicle dept. ASAP, and turn in your drivers license!
