Hey guys! I've been lurking for weeks since I first started looking around at various trucks, registered the other day when I really got serious about getting a Titan, and this is my first post to say that I got a new 04 XE on December 21st. I had actually struck the Titan from my "buy" list because I didn't think I could afford it. I had a bad experience negotiating a deal on a 4 door Chevy Canyon, and stopped at the Nissan dealer on my way home. It was the last 04 Crew Cab, and I got it for just a couple thousand more than the best deal I could negotiate on a compact truck. As soon as I drove it, I knew I wanted it. Love that engine!
The XE wheels are pretty sorry looking, so wheels and tinting the front windows are going to be the first upgrades. I'm actually kind of partial to the XE front end. From the time I saw the Titan, I loved the looks other than feeling all the chrome on the front was a bit much. When I'm done, mine will have no brightwork at all.
Anyway, Happy New Year and thanks for a great and informative forum!
Congrats, I got mine Oct30. An xe kc. I share your feeling about all the chrome, and the ugly wheels. I got zero options. I was interested in a few but didn't like the package structure.
Hey Tim, Congrats on the new Titan I'm sure you'll be very happy with it, and I'm also sure you made a great deal on the dealer's last CC. I agree with you that the body color grille does look cool. I also think that Black is one color the Titan wears well in any trim level. Merry Christmas

I have the SE King Cab model and I have to agree with you about all that chrome on the front end. I think it looks tacky, but others say they like it. I wasn't too crazy about the color that I got either (Deep Water Blue), but I got $6K off of the sticker on a "end of the year" clearance. My last truck was a 1998 Dodge Dakota and it was black, so I wanted something different. I would have prefered the SMOKE color. But all things considered, I love my new truck. Vroooooooom... sure does get up and go.
Anyway, welcome to the forum and again, congrats on your new Titan.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Got our first snow today, and although it was only a dusting, I got to use the 4wd. Truck feels very sure-footed for its size. I also have a 4x4 Tacoma standard cab, and I wasn't sure if the Titan would feel a bit ponderous!
Teaching the wife to back it up has been quite an experience!
Well, I did have the tire pressure indicator and chime go off the third day I had it. I got out and walked around the truck, and everything looked pretty normal. I came back here and read about the same thing happening to quite a few people on cold days.
Almost 300 miles, and so far that's the only problem.
Nice pistol.Nice truck!!-Offroad wheels good upgrade.
Nice pistol, and very nice truck!!I have a XE KC,and I'm still debating whether I should have gotten the CC.
The Offroad wheels are a nice relatively inexpensive upgrade. You don't have to worry about any"spacing" problems, and you can use your 17" tires(save some $$) Folks are always selling alloy factory wheels off the higher trim level Titans,so you can take your pick. The 17" offroad wheels look nice, they are 5.5 lbs less(each) than our stock steel wheels, and you don't have to buy 18" tires..I swear I can feel an improvement in the ride with the decrease in unsprung weight, but maybe it is my imagination.A good set of any of the factory wheels will go for about $400 delivered($300+ shipping,or maybe a little more, but not much more).
Congrats.Charlie
Thanks for the info on the wheels. I've been looking in the For Sale forum, but I also found another post here talking about the black American Mojave wheels. I think they'd look really cool. The other consideration was to get a set of the stock 17" alloys, have them powdercoated black and have my tires switched over.
Thanks on the pistol too! The Mil-Spec was my first .45 (and first 1911), and it was a revalation for me. The only pistol I can shoot consistently tighter groups with is my Ruger MKII .22. That photo I'm using is off Springfields site, my Mil-Spec is black.
Finally got my Titan. I have been looking and researching this site for the past year. Just before the 04 models came out. I picked up my truck tonight. It was at a dealership about 100 miles from where I live, got what I think was not a bad deal. Here is what I bought. 05 SE Radiant Silver 4X4, Pop. with captains, utility bed pkg., floor mats, and splash guards. MSRP from Nissan was 31,960, some 2,999 which was Bull Sh$$ dealer add on for a price of 34,959. I got the truck for 30,000 out the door (included 5% tax and 100.00 Title, Lic. fee.) The dealer gave me a free tank of gas, filled up across the street from dealership. drove home 101.9 miles filled up again to check mileage, used 5.919 gallons if my math is correct that comes out to 17.2 miles to the gallon. I now have 157 miles on the odometer.
