Weird Mystery Drip...Worried
There is some fluid on my drivers front inner fender. Its in the engine bay right next to the air box. It seems to be dripping from that hose thats ziptied to the air box that goes nowhere. It just hangs there. What is it. It's clear like the brake fluid. And I just had dealer do my brake fix this past week. What is it and what is that hose.

Is the brake fluid up to the full/max line? It might just be residual fluid from a spill. I'd go back and have them clean it up for you and do an inspection while in there. In the mean time I'd leave a bit of extra room in front when approaching a stop situation, just in case.

Brake fluid ruins the paint... water will disolve it, if it is break fluid you may want mention it to the dealer, the work corrosion comes to my mind.

Have someone sit in the truck while running and apply the brakes. If it's leaking you should be able to see where it's coming from.

the hose is the breather for the front diff.

Why would it be spitting gear oil? I used the 4wd about 3 days ago. I also changed the front diff to synthetic. Could I have overfilled it? Is it just going to overflow and be ok?

Its pretty tuff to overfill a diff unless its parked on an incline when doing it. not sure what the drip is but, that is what that hose is.
