light odd shaped load in bed+regular gas=14.5 mpg

WTF I had my rear end replace 2 months ago it should be broken in by now i took a trip to nevada around that time but i was getting about 16's.

going home tommorow and will post results i was going to use mid grade gas.

that extended over the cab that probably didnt help. I also forgot to mention this is with the A/C off. Im not even getting the posted city mpg on the highway. I used to get 16's. I have over 12000 miles.

Any ideas?

winter gas and more drag from colder air. I usually get 17.7 on my daily commute. last tank was 15.6. I sure hope that's what it is...have noticed it before on other vehicles. juma

You may have something on the colder air thing. Colder air is denser, so yes drag would be more. And colder air would cause the intake mass air flow sensor to sense colder, denser air, so maybe it's telling the computer to pump more fuel to match the mass of the air flow. Which would explain the lower gas mileage, and probably better performance in acceleration. I know my Titan feels stronger when it gets cold outside. Kind of like having an intercooler, only it's an OUTERcooler. ha!
