75W-140 gear oil

Tried all the auto parts stores within 20 miles of town and the only 75W-140 gear oil (for rear diff) I could find on any shelf was Pennzoil brand. I've always avoided their motor oil for some reason or another, so I'm reluctant to use Pennzoil in rear diff. Should I keep looking?

Personally I would...it has been slim pickings around here as well...even asked the guy at the local Nissan delaer today for it....He said - Why do you want that? I told him that the new '05's REQUIRE it in the diff now....had to go show him the cover and the manual....I found 1 Qt out of 5 stores locally today....BTW $14.99 a QT Mobil 1!

I would go online. You will find it cheaper, BUT shipping costs will more than offset the savings, end up paying more, but atleast you can FIND the stuff.. and more than 1qt at a time.
You can get some directly from AMSOil, its a bit more expensive but the best around besides a redline/royal purple ($$)

Here's a case of 4 quarts for $49.71
http://order.store.yahoo.com/cgi-bin...H9B.hXaO_AeL0-
That's about 12.50 per qt!!!

After shipping to my house it comes out to $15.30 /qt.
That's actually LESS than I would pay in CA after sales tax. Pretty good deal, IMO.
Theres alot more, just Google "Mobil 1 75w-140"

Peninsula, Apparently the 2005 models are using 75w-140 Synthetic. Redline has a 75w-140 Synthetic. You can check it out at www.redlineoil.com
Mobil or Amsoil and others probably have it too.

All I could find was Valvoline and Royal Purple in the 75w-140. Went with Valvoline at $14 something a quart

Thanks for all your responses. I mozied into a "Schuck's" auto parts store today in Silverdale, WA and they carry a greater selection of oils. They have Mobil 1 75-140 for, similar to the message above, at $14.99/quart.
All the other syn gear oils in that weight neighborhood seemed to be 85-140. But the Mobil 1 matched the manual spec exactly at 75-140.
Of course, 3 quarts are needed because the rear diff capacity is a wee bit over 2 quarts.
We all ought to combine our almost full leftover quarts and give them to neewbie buyers for their first changes!
I'm looking forward to buying my synthetic oil there as well. At this point, I don't even have a thousand miles on Mr. Titan.

Changing mine even as we speak the fronts draining, it has just as much metal on the magnet as the rear diff does. BTW Mobil 1 75W90 in mine now at 6,200 miles. Oh and the front turns going down the highway as well as the rear no such thing anymore as locking hubs.

I wouldn't. I went with the Mobil1 synthetic in both the front and rear using the stock weight.
