A very strange knock from the rear.

I have an 04' SE 4x4 CC with only 3,500k and I was pulling into a driveway yesterday and caught the right rear tire on the curb where it just starts to go up. As the tire hit the curb, I heard a VERY loud knock that did not sound normal . I noticed it a couple of times before going over bumps at a fairly slow speed. I did not think much of it at the time, but yesterday it was really loud.
I am able to reproduce it only when I go over bumps while turning left or right at a slow speed. It is definitely coming from the rear. I looked under there to see if anything may be loose or broken and can not see any problem.
Any one else experience this or have any idea's before I bring it in to the dealership to give them an idea of what to look for?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sorry no help here.

When you take yours to dealer, ask service advisor or service tech to go with you and show them how to duplicate it, doesn't matter where it's coming from, just point out there's the noise that you are after.

Make sure your spare tire is secure...I have heard a couple people on here as well as Ford forums say that their spares were loose and would "knock" when going over bumps etc. Probably not it, but worth checking out.

I have heard the same thing. Didnt think to much about it as I always have tools in my truck. Now I will go test without any thing in truck.

If you have the storage box in the drivers rear fender...what's in it? I had my ball hitch in mine...lol..what a racket! If you keep items like that in there, wrap em' in a towel or something!

If you have the Bed Utility package it is common for the plastic protectors in the tracks (in bottom of bed) to slide back and forth making a loud bang sound when they hit either the front wall of the bed or the tailgate.
