Traded rattle trap 04 for new 05

I just traded my LE KC for a 05 LE KC, both were 4x4.
I have posted before on the issues I have had with my 04. The 05 is the same color has BT(which my 04 had) and OR(which my 04 didn't have ), The only other option was XM radio.
The new titan didn't have the finned diff. cover, but they have ordered it free of charge. I gave them my 04 plus $6100 cash.
The XM is worthless for where I live. On the 1.5 hour drive home it only worked for about 20 minutes. To many trees where I live. All in all it worked as good as I thought it would.
I really like the new tailgate. I don't like the temp. and compass mounted to the roof console. You have to take your eyes completely off the road in order to see it. To make matters worse it has a line indicator to tell yoour what direction you are going instead of saying SE, NE etc.
The face plate for the stereo and the center console is silver instead of gray(I hope it doesn't reflect the sun to bad). I like the rear sonar, that will come in handy.
Other than that everything else seems to be the same.
I hope this titan was put together better than my first one.
I guess only time will tell.
One more thing, the brakes are much more "touchy" than my 04, this is not a bad thing but it will take some getting used to. The Ride is also stiffer with the OR package. This to me is a good thing, the stiffer the better.
I pput a new muffler on in the first 15 minutes, When I get the K&N aircharger on I will be set.

how's the new muffler? Is it louder or has the sound of the exhaust note changed?

Good luck with the replacement truck. It's nice to know that even though you traded, due to problems with what you had, you still had enough faith in Nissan to buy another one. Have many trouble free miles with it.

You are a lot braver than I am skyhammer. After I get past the bath I'd take trading mine in, I won't buy anything from Nissan again.

Pyro; Yes the muffler is louder, but not bad. it is the same muffler I have used on my Tundra, toyota pickup, jeep rubicon and on my last Titan.
Clint; While I have lost some faith in Nissan, I have no faith in the big 3. If the new Tundra was out I would have bought it. IMO Nissan and Toyota were my only choices.
Garo; I know what you are saying and agree with you somewhat.
Having said that I made the plunge anyway, I hope I don't reget it.My old power train was great. The enterior was a diaster. After replacing most of it, little or no positive results I had to get rid of it. It rattled like it had been in to many Baja races.

Good for you man. I would do the same in your shoes. I may keep mine 2 years and trade it in. Or sooner if too many problems develop.

Congratulations Skyhammer on your '05 Titan!

I had made a couple of suggestions to your woes on another thread, http://www.titantalk.com/forums/show...579#post228579 but that's a mute point for you at least. I hope everything works out on this one for you. Mine has been good except for the brake judder, (fixed for now at least), and a rattling front passenger seat, (parts on order).

Although I have never had any early 1st year issues on my previous vehicles, mine are minor to me.
But I do empathize with you guys that have had many issues, especially if you have to drive an hour and a half to the dealer. BTW what dealer was working on your '04? Some of these incompetent technicians are giving Nissan a bad rep.

Anyway Sir, good luck to you.

Tom; I had a little under 10k on my 04.
Swarren: My dealer is in Eureka CA. They aare the only dearler in NW CA. The next closest dealer is in Santa Rosa (175 miles away).
The service at eureka has always been good. They have a new service manager, who is young. He has not yet learned to exercise command and control of his shop. Most of the mechanics are much older that he is.The dealership owner is now aware of the service managers leadership problems says he is fixing the problem. The service manager needs to learn that he is the boss, and that toes will have to stepped on from time to time to insure quality control. After all that is why he is paid more than everone else.
