Starting Problem?

Alright guys, new one for you (I think).

Two times within the last month my truck has failed to startup when I put the key in.

First: During vacation, got to hotel so the engine was nice and warm, parked, unpacked, started up to go to K-mart (5mins) to pickup some Lysol and Oust as my room stunk of mold (another story entirely). Went into K-mart, come back out, unlocked door with FOB, stick the key in, engine keeps cranking but no go. I pause 10 seconds, try again, keeps cranking no go. Pull the key out, lock the doors with the key fob, unlock with fob, open and close driver door, put key in, starts right up.

Second: Took a trip over to the new place I'm going to live so engine was warm, stopped to do some stuff inside, then restarted and drove to a gas station 5 minutes away. Filled up ($54 thank you very much NY) but had locked the door while filling. Paid, went back to truck, unlocked with fob, stuck key in, kept cranking. Pulled key out, stuck in again same deal. So again I took key out, locked with fob, unlocked with fob, opened and closed driver door, stuck key in and started right up.

Any ideas? Clearly by my actions I think it has something to do with the chip in the keys (at least I think there are chips in the keys if I remember correctly) and somehow it isn't getting read properly so I try to reset the security each time. What I don't know is if it is coincidence or if I am really fixing the problem.

I really don't want to end up getting stuck somewhere! Any thoughts?

Trik, try your spare key. It might be the chip in the key causing a problem. When it doesn't recognize the key it won't start. It will act just like your saying. Had this happen with my G35.

Again, Trik, sorry to hear of your problems!
What other dealers have you tried for service besides Hoselton?

Join Sam's Club and get a Discover gas card. I just paid $1.861 per gallon for my last tank this weekend with the combined benefit of both. Sam's is about $1.95 for regular and the Discover card is worth 5% more savings.

None, to date. If I were having the same problem repeatedly then I would have ditched them sooner. But since it is just many different single issues it isn't really worth it.

I'm moving out to victor, maybe the BJs out there has gas. Still though, even with those savings I would have only saved $4.40 so then I would have paid $49.60 hehehe. I am not *****ing about gas too much though, I expected it when I bought the truck. I am *****ing more about the fact that we have taken over as the most expensive gas in the country . . . even cali is below $2 on average. Average in the USA today is 1.75 and Rochacha is at 2.033. All places around me are $2.05 for reg. And to think, 1 year ago it was $1.60 here. Speaking of which, www.rochestergasprices.com is an OK site.
