Speed Reference Wire For Nav???

Where is the speed reference wire. I need to tap into this for the navigation on the eclipse avn2454. I need to tap that, and the reverse wire. The reverse wire is just tapping into the brake light wire. But I need the speed ref.

got this from the cheat sheets used in my install, direct from directed...

Reverse Light, green/white, + polarity, inside rearview mirror

Speed Sense, white/red, 8P, cluster or shift lock control unit

8P...Whats that. 8 pin connector? Or pin #8

not sure, just copying the info. but i think it is pin 8 since it mentions the location and polarity should not matter.

Where you would want to pick it up is on connector M98, pin 24. It's the only 24 pin connector that plugs into the factory radio. If you have the PDF manual look at page 26 of the PDF file for the AV section. This is the line that feeds the speed-sensitive-volume control. Hope this helps....cheers

What color is it on the 24 pin harness? Is it numbered?

I don't know if the wire color is the same but I am positive the number is the same (looked it up in the manual)

Look at either the top or the botom of the 24 pin connector.... the pins will be numbered...they are very small you may need a flash light. Ofcourse since it's pin 24.. it will be the last conductor on that connector. Sorry i don't remember what color the wire was

Pin 24...Is that the one you used as the speed sensor wire for your nav? And it works good?
