What's the tiny interior light for?

I've had my truck about a month now and just noticed a tiny interior light that is always on. It's located on the overhead console, behind the interior light rocker switch and between the two main front interior lights. It doesn't put out enough light to amount to anything, but it is always on when the headlights are on. Does anyone know what this light is for?

To light up the cup holders, shifter and center console in general. It actually works. Put your hand over it and try.

true, in total darkness, you can see lightly colored object on the floor too... just one of the little things that sets this truck apart from the Crap trucks

Yeah, it's an ambiance(sp) lighting. My A4 also had it.

03 Accord and up have it too. A lot of people like changing it from that orange to a blue or white.

Trikky,
I haven't done a search of course, but are the replacement bulbs pretty easy to find? Thanks.

So you can twist up a fatty without turning on the overhead lights alerting everyone who might see that you are about to blaze one. LOL

I dont think anyone has done it on a Titan, but I searched the Honda forums and came up with this:

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/566877/1

This guy made his blue. I don't know if the light is the same in the Titan. Obviously you have to modify the instructions for the Titan. Hope this helps.

Thanks! That looks like the long way around. What about just getting a colored piece of film and placing that over the opening?

Depends on what color you are going for....you stick blue over it and it will not be nearly as bright, and look rather "crappy" in color, that is if the LED is actually orange...if it just has a cover on the led itself to begin with then it is REALLY easy.

Nice, Titan and an A4 like me.

My mood light in the A4 is red and there are 2 LEDs so it's a bit brighter. Nice touch I think.
