Suggestion from a Dodge Owner

I have been here for over a year, and i have seen the trolls get totally rediculous here. You have different types here though. Trolls here post problems, and then leave. Problem is peeps that want to buy read that crap, and feel its junk. On our boards the trolls always identify themselves, and then bash our products. We have the ocasional troll that post a problem, but not like here. My suggestion is:

Post on the main board "All problem posts not in the problem topic will be deleted" (you have way to many problems posted in general discussion)

Then if possible password protect the problem board for members only.

I have seen it done on other boards, but not truck boards before. Maybe Californiatitan would consider this. You guys do have a problem with some trolls here. Just a suggestion. goodluck.

"Hit & Run Trolls" watch out. I agree, the troll activity here is a little weird with the "Hit & Run" trolls. I haven't seen anything like it in any of the other forums I follow. Good idea too.

I think alot of it is the fact that if you go to yahoo, this site is like #4 in the list. I think they get the kids that want to pick on the new forign product. Definantly a possibility.

I agree, but the mods have said they do not want to make more forums, and are not active in moving/deleting threads.

Franz: It is interesting to say the least. Maybe we just flex our muscles too much for those little girly trolls to handle...

They wont have to make more topics, there is already a problem thread. I only think it would be helpfull if all threads go there. If that dont solve the problem, then password that thread for titan members only. That way the riff raff can be weeded out there, and lurkers that view wont get it in there head that its junk. I know its not, but most will by viewing this forum. Way to many BS posts here.

Its never been my experiance that kids are anti japanese products. Its the older guys. Look at the kind of people that drive the Japanese cars, they are all young.

If i remember correctly California is the owner, and only moderator of this site. That may have changed i dont know. If not, i think its time to add a few moderators to move posts to there respective places. I know DTW did this to us, and it does cause havoc when people's posts are moved, but in the end it will kill most trolls, because 90% post in general discussion where there problems are not supposed to be. Move there azz, and if it obivious delete it.

The mods could shut down the troll post, ban the troll and delete the post to keep the site cleaned up so new memeber don't see this mess. Only thing they can still get another password can't they?

There are 4 moderators and 2 administrators.

Between the 6 of us someone is usually on this site.

Some members complain that we are too active and restrictive and now some are saying we are not restrictive enough.

We want as many people as possible to be able to participate on this site. The obvious trolls who are here only to stir it up are usually dealt with quickly. if there is some doubt we will leave the post and see what happens.

It can be a fine line. . . . but your opinions and suggestions are always welcomed.

No, i dont think more mod's are in need. I see what titan talk, and the mods are trying to uphold here. There trying to keep it open, and free as they can to the members. I commend that, but there comes a time when it starts to hurt the forum, and action has to happen. General topic is general, and not problems. Problems go in Problem topic. Move them there, and everyone will deal with them apropriately. If that becomes a problem, then it can be passworded, so only members can get in. Not a total solutiion, but just a thought.
