The design plan I came up with for my hood has both Ram-Air and Cowl. Essentially nostrils that go from front to back with the driver's side supplying ram-air and the passenger being a blow through to draw out more heat. I am still playing with the design to work out the lines, but they have to blend into the Titan's lines so that they look 100% OEM. Too many of the aftermarket hoods look like poorly designed afterthoughts that were made by Bubba and his cousin Lou for the Saturday Night Frog Races.

One of these days I will buy an extra hood and learn to work sheet metal so I can build my dream hood. For now, I am stuck with stock...

this hood will be made of composites the one first made for me will be a combo of CF and FB infused with aluminum(it will be a very bright silver) but the hoods will be available in many different options after the entire thing is said and done

If you go with the ram-air, then pleeeeease make it functional. In the plans for my hood, I want to port the ram-air to the Volant CAI to try and get a little pressure to the intake that I don't think you can get from an open box like with K&N or AirRaid.

As long as it is paintable so it can be color matched I don't care what it is made of... I'm not a fan of these little ricers running aroung with their carbon fiber hood that sticks out like a sore thumb.

"Hey man, nice paint job! Well except for that hood..." Might as well be running with just primer!

the hoods will be paintable and will eventually also be offered in color weaves and colored resin finishes but they will all be paintable. I know I have been thinking more of a cowl design for this truck as it has such a short hood but if you guys could do a quick sketch of what you would like to see then by all means help out.

Personally it's not my style, but either one or two NACA ducts at most but it would depend on it being functional or not. PhotoShopping a couple of different designs would be a great idea. IMNSHO, anything that would protrude above the current hoodline would look amateurish (even ricerish) and reduce visibility. Just something to keep in mind.

Good Luck!

I don't have a scanner at work to scan in a drawing so here are some examples I just found that have the same concept as my ideas.

Basically this design, but blend all of the lines better: http://www.carhoods.com/GoodHoods/GHG-117.htm <--example for ram-air ducting here as well

I also like the black Jimmy at the bottom of this page: http://www.carhoods.com/HoodPages/PF-204.htm

The Titan has a lot of rise on the front of the hood so it seems the scoops can be blended in without the wierd look like some of these have.

well this company will not make anything non-functional so what ever the design ends up being will be either to flow air to the intake or extract heat from under the hood or both we will have to see.

wow I thought there would be more interest in gettin a new hood designed for the titan. I guess you all have the mindset "danm rice CF" well this company also does fiberglass and other composites so once the hood is molded and the first one made they can make it out of anything
