Thanks for all the help and info on this site. I am heading in to do battle with the dealer tomorrow. We have picked out three trucks, at three dealers within 50 miles, and will buy when the deal is right.

isn't it a lame state of affairs when the automotive market is so set against the consumer (how about $80 an hour service ALONG with the $120 diagnostic just to tell you 'hey you have a problem, would you like us to fix it????') that they have such a HUGE hidden markup that you actually have to go in and FIGHT for something you want to buy??? buying vehicles is pathetic...american capitalism at its worst!!!

hope all goes well at 'the stealer'!!!
Not that I totally disagree with what I think your larger point was in your statement, but I'm curious to know what the best example of American capitalism would be in your mind? And why or how is it the best example, or even better then buying vehicles?
There are much worst things then getting screwed by a dealer. At least you have a choice to take your vehicle to Joe Schmoe Mechanic. Some people would say that Microsoft Corporation is American capitalism at it's worst.
Thanks for all the kind words. We were able to work a deal with Frederick Nissan and drove home our new truck last night. 05 CC LE, NAV, OR, BT, DVD, SR, Red Brawn. We are very happy with the truck, and with the folks at the dealer. We were able to use the VPP program, and get a reasonable trade on our high mile Taurus.
Now we just have to figure out how to work all this neat stuff.
