TRADED IN 9/1/06 for something more fuel efficient. My gf misses the White Titan....lol.
looks pretty cool, its not going to be used for real work or real towing i guess since it pretty much has similar ratings that compact pickups have, but id definatley 100% get it over an avalance
255 lbs of torque with 16/21 gas milage does not impress me, but the in-bed trunk and two way tailgate does.

I doubt that Honda is looking to steal a tremendous amount of marketshare from anyone, but I would be very surprised if they even come close to first year sales figures. Unless those figures are quite low. The Ridgeline concept was interesting but I certainly would not have owned one. The production photos show what is an incredibly watered down version of the concept. Sales of this vehicle will be low...very low.

I was just looking at the truck at clubsi.com. I think the thing is hideous looking. It looks like a mini Avalanche, with an interior designed by GM to boot. My cousin has a Pilot, which actually has a really nice looking interior. This thiing just looks too bland. Another thing are the sides of the bed, with that angle on them takes away from alot of real world usability ( loading, toolbox, etc.) IMO, its just a little wierd for a truck. Honda has the ability to build a full sized truck, or a compact/midsize. I dont think the Frontier/Tacoma shopper will look at this thing, and the performance numbers dont stack up to this thing for full size competition. On top of that, the MSRP is 30-35K. You could buy a nice Titan for that. Looks like another soccermomobilekidhaulercarsuvtruck.

For their first foray into the US truck market, that actually isn't all that bad looking, although I did think at first I was looking at a rebadged Avalanche. With it being a Honda, it'll have quality behind it, not to say that Nissan isn't good quality and that they are doing everything they can with the Titan, I just think Honda is a step above Nissan, having owned several Honda's in the past and not having one single problem with any of them. Guess I'm a little partial to Honda's LOL although I wouldn't buy a Ridgeline. I'll stick to the Honda's that are out there now.

I like the styling of the production model in the pictures better than the concept. Still don't like that Element type sqare front end, and really dislike the angled bed sides. I'm guessing they wanted it to look distinctive, but pickup beds are the way they are for a reason. If nothing else, Honda build quality in the segment will make everyone else step it up.

That is, of course if they actually continue to compete in this segment. They could ultimately pull the plug on this little venture very quickly. Time (and sales) will tell. You are right though. Bringing Honda's level of quality to this segment (assuming they become a viable compeditor <which I don't see>) would certainly be a win/win situation for us all.

The angled bed has turned me off everytime I've looked at this truck err vehicle. Does the square dash remind you of GM? I could see this working for someone who wants to drive a truck but has no real need for one----no flames intended on that. I believe I read somewhere that Honda had been open about not being after the work truck market.
A friend that works for Delphi had mentioned to me that GM got the use of the Honda Accord engine in the Saturn SUV and in exchange Honda got the use of the Duramax. We thought it would show up in a domestic truck but has yet to surface, has anyone else heard this?

i dont think honda engineers have any idea of what to do with a duramax engine. if the ridgeline is the best they can come up with then they have no use for a duramax.

Agreed, but if they really made a trade then it's going show up somewhere, maybe over seas in construction?
