I need some help.........
My titan has been in the shop several times with a vibration at 45mph. I've had the tires balanced 4 times and it still does it. The dealer told me that my tires were out of round and to get them replaced so I did through good year (warranty). After all that, it still vibrates at 45 mph (feels like a tire out of balance. I have a crew cab LE, 4X4. Also, I never have had brake problems but the dealer did a brake recall I was in the shop. Now I have break problems. It feels like my rotars need turned.
Anyone know of a solution for my 45mph vibration? All 4 tires have been replaced.
Thanks,
Birdman
Is the vibration happening just when you hit the brakes or just when cruising along at 45mph? You might have them check the weights on your tires again and if that's not it, did you hit a curb parking or could someone else have? Maybe hard enough to dent the rim and pinch and give you that vibration? I suppose it would be more wobble like then, but I don't have a lot of ideas for this...
Mine vibrated at 45 as well! Dealer rebalanced the tires and now it vibrates at 50. I will take it back in and see what the deal is, however, my dealer is awful they probably will make the problem worse!
Cupping/feathering is the other idea but since Birdman had his tires replaced that rules that out. Hmmm...it could still be brake related even though the brake TSB had been done, perhaps a caliper hanging up or something. Do you both use your parking brake a lot?
I have it at 60mph, with the stock BF tires . Haven't investigated yet . Had the rotors turned about 1000 miles ago . I use my parking brake alot , could that be the culprit???
did you buy your titan with a hood protector, if you did replace it. I had the exact same problem you are describing. and what mine ended up being is when the dealership got my titan they put that hood protector on themselfs. and some kid ended up doing it, so at about 40 -45 or so i would get a serious vibration. When the kid put the hood protector on he didnt put the rubber things on straight with the alighment of the hood. so the screws were rubbing again the metals pieces instead of the rubber parts.
Hope i explained that well enough, but if you do have a hood protector, i would check that first.

I was just thinking that sometimes parking brakes cause calipers to hang or a drag b/c they don't let the calipers release the pads off of the rotors completely. Malfunctioning component is my guess, I had a buddy who had an issue w/ his Yukon for the same reason and his parking brake was the culprit.
Interesting idea about the bug shield/hood protector. How did they figure that one out?
My father has been a technican for nissan for about the last 25 years. When i described the problem to him he first thought the same thing a tire issue, but when he road with me he new then it was either air escaping somewhere, or the bug shield. so the first test was to take it off and take a drive, sure enough as soon as we took it off, no more vibration. when he replaced it is when he noticed the rubber pieces were not matching up with where the bug shield was installed. once he fixed that, no more vibration.
I now have 6000 miles and proud to say no problems.
I've been a member of this forum for about a year, and this is a common problem. I noticed it with my truck not long after I purchased it. I had the tires road force balanced with no luck. The local tire guy here thinks that it is a suspension problem. The truck has such a heavy-duty suspension, to increase towing capacity, that this is a by-product. Over the months, my problem evolved into an all-around crappy ride over a wide variety of speeds (20-50). But at first it was a bumby ride only around 45mph.

The parking brake has nothing to do with the rear calipers or pads. There is a small drum brake inside the rear rotors that are the parking brakes.
