? for you off-roaders

Do you guys get a lot of bump steer when off roading? Has anyone seen a steering stabilizer for the Titan yet? Do the current lifts come with one?

What do you mean with bum steer? I do allot of bad dirt roads and high speeds and on large holes I get a loud tump like if the front shocks traveled to the max...

I don't get allot; the steering seems to be pretty tight compared to other trucks that I have taken off-road.

when you go over a rock or dip in the road, the steering wheel will turn on you. a steering stabilizer is like an extra shock mounted horazontaly within the steering compents. see pic.

I put a rs5000 on my 92 GMC and the difference was amazing, and I'm talking on the street. Haven’t thought about putting one on my titan, it steers like a sports car compared to my GMC.

BTY is the titan rack and pinion?

In one of the latest issues of one of my off roading magizines, there was a good article on an install of a Fabetech 6" lift on a '04 F-150. The kit included (perhaps as an option or prototype) a dual steering stabilizer. One was mounted on each side close to where the links connect to the spindles. With the similarities between the 150 and Titan, perhaps Fabetech will release a similar kit for Nissan.

Compared to my 72 Landcruiser which will break your wrist as the wheel is yanked from your hand, this thing is cake.I'm wondering if you don't have some other problem?
What kind of offroading are you doing?

A little mis-conception here...bump steer is when the toe-in changes during the suspension travel, you usually feel it not in the steering wheel, but the veh will dart to the left or right as you hit bumps, and potholes. A steering stabilizer will not correct bump steer, it's in the geometry of the front suspension, and steering.
When you put on taller tires, the tires gain leverage on the steering linkage, so now when you hit things, the steering wheel wants to get jerked out of your hand.
Real common with the "Lift to the Sky" crowd, because of their need for "44" Gumbo Butt F***er Tires"

I sent an e-mail to Rancho yesterday, and here's their response:

*******************************
Thank you for your interest in Rancho products. Unfortunately we do not
offer a steering stabilizer for your vehicle.
